I'm hoping someone can help me - i'm going on holiday to a place where there's loads of waterparks etc. and i'm going to be in swimsuits a fair amount. I'll need two at least.

I'm a 38DD and a size 16. Bum and legs fine but a '6 months pregnant' type belly (not pregnant btw in case that was badly written). Not alot i can do about that between now and hols but i'd like a cossie that's flattering, holds my boobs in but won't flatten them down. Would one with underwired cups be the way to go? They're quite heavy as well as large if that makes sense.

I've only ever been to local municipal before grin - need help!

try bravissimo something should fitgrin

Bravissimo have a mail order and do loads of costumes for the larger norked amongst us. Pricey though and I personally would have to try on first, although I think they may do free deliver/free returns but I am guessing. Will link to it in a min. Here

Yes - how about this or would you consider a tankini?

wuglet Thu 11-Jun-09 12:38:23

D'oh - took too long to find the exact ones! Well everyone says bravissimo!

Have a look atfigleaves There are lots of one pieces.

Definitely go for underwired.

Would you wear a bikini? Sometimes this can be more flattering if you have a larger bust? There are lots of underwired bikinis on there too...

Leia also fab, they have a shop in Bluewater. Had some lovely tankini's there as well

PortBlacksandResident Thu 11-Jun-09 12:39:54

Oooh that website is lovely - like the black one and also this.

I don't seem to have a store near me but may order a couple to try.

Tankini would be most unflattering on me i think - i'd feel like Winnie the Pooh.

I have a fab cossie for my G cup norks from a sports shop, I think the brand is speedo (or some other famous swimwear brand, can't quite remember), it was about £30

It's black but they had other colours, and it's quite structured IYSWIM so holds everything in place, and quite feminine and not too sporty looking

PortBlacksandResident Thu 11-Jun-09 12:41:08

Thankyou ladies - i knew i could rely on you grin.

No to bikini - i'm quite small and my chubbiness is all on the front.

Wags Thu 11-Jun-09 12:41:53

grin at Winnie the Pooh

PortBlacksandResident Thu 11-Jun-09 12:42:39

This might suit me

Thankyou again smile.

Imho if you have large norks & small bum you are not going to struggle to find a swimming costume to fit. I have tried loads from Bravissimo & have not yet found one which fits both bits of me.

I know tankinis are generally disapproved of in style & beauty, but mine is the only piece of swimwear that I have ever looked vaguely human in. I bought it from Debenhams & you can buy top & bottoms separately, it has a proper bra inside & a long top which meets the bottom - so no jelly belly on show. Only downside is that when I swim the water pushes the top up to reveal my stomach to anyone swimming underwater (so probably just me being paranoid!) - but I am going to experiment with fastening the 2 together!

no you realy REALLy need underwired, to give you support and make you feel secure. foam cups are a no no for me but i am a FF

when you are at a waterpark with small children you dont need to be constantly tugging your suit into place

i have teh grace swimsuit from Bravissimo and its very secure but not very sexy

BHS do a cheap copy - BHS holiday wear is a well ket secret imo.

also look at the swimsuit in bravissimo with the strap like a bra at the back gave me the best shape ever

PortBlacksandResident Thu 11-Jun-09 15:37:29

Macaroon - what is this miracle suit of which you speak? Can it take 2 stone off too??

<hopeful> grin

I bought a fab new rigby & peller one from ebay for £30 which I am very pleased with (in a bigger cup size than yours). It is worth searching for your cupsize and see what comes up.

Damn, wish I'd known about BHS miraclesuit. sad Certainly can't afford a real one!

I just bought this to attempt to contain my 38Es. I wouldn't go jogging in it or anything, but it's good on coverage. And it holds my tummy in more-or-less ok. No underwiring though, just some elasticated boob support.
