Anyone bought jeans from Uniqlo?

I am just about to order some, but not too sure about what size to get.
I am normally a size 12, and 5' 10" , so tend to buy longer lengths where they are available, there doesn't seem to be size chart anywhere that gives leg length on their website. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of whether the sizing comes up big / small / long / short...thanks!

anyone?

Tinker Mon 08-Jun-09 18:01:12

I'm a 12 and bought 12 and they fit, could not get away with a 10 like I can in Gap. I've got teh skinny ones and they're long on me (but I've got short legs!) I am 5'6" though so would think they'll be long enough for you?

ILiveinhope Mon 08-Jun-09 18:07:47

I have found that all the uniqlo stuff is really small,

I am 5 11 and their jeans are way way way to short for me.

HTH

OrmIrian Mon 08-Jun-09 18:08:40

Nope. Way too short.

I have found that generally their sizes are quite small. My 12 skirt is tight on me.

Tinker Mon 08-Jun-09 19:04:08

Oh, does this mean I'm really a 10? wink <Hopeful emoticon>

hmmmm...not looking good is it.

I am a 'larger' 10 iyswim - sometimes trousers/jeans need to be a 12. But my Uniqlo jeans are a 10 and fit v well. In fact I love them as I think they are a lot more flattering than my usual Gap ones. But think you all are right about length - I didn't have to make a hem (much to dd's relief - apparently it is not cool) like I have to with Gap. I am 5 foot 7.

plantwoman Mon 08-Jun-09 19:42:33

Maybe it depends on the style?

Horton Mon 08-Jun-09 19:55:46

I am an 8 and buy an 8 in Uniqlo. I think they come up a little skinnier than eg M&S but probably about the same as Top Shop. I buy 33" inside leg in Top Shop, 32" elsewhere (eg Levis which I wear 26W 32L in) and Uniqlo jeans are the perfect length for me. I never wear heels, though.

I'm 5'11 and size 12 and they are way too short for me.

plantwoman Mon 08-Jun-09 19:58:02

Topshop jeans fit me, so size probably ok.
How tall are you Horton?
I could normally do with 33" leg, 34" is a bit too long,

bran Mon 08-Jun-09 19:58:52

I'm 5' 7" and the longer length is too long for me but the shorter length is just a fraction shorter than I like my jeans to be. The style up jeans fit me very well (apple shape) and I've found the sizing to be average, but I'm a weird shape.

Horton Mon 08-Jun-09 19:59:24

I'm about 5'5" but I have a v short body and long legs (rather like a spider).

plantwoman Mon 08-Jun-09 19:59:57

Do they do a longer length then? I didn't see that - will check the website again.

Horton Mon 08-Jun-09 20:04:21

Have just checked Top Shop website and they seem to do 32 and 34 not 33 leg. So no idea what brand I am thinking of!!

MarthaFarquhar Mon 08-Jun-09 20:05:37

There is a longer length - I am 5'9" and find the long length perfect.

IIRC, the uniqlo website is a bit shite in terms of stock, and there are many more styles and size options in store.

plantwoman Mon 08-Jun-09 22:06:19

Have checked the website again - there only seems to be details of the length on one style on there and to be honest, most of the stuff in a size 12 is out of stock.
We don't have a store locally.
I am going up to Liverpool on saturday though, does anyone know if there is a store there?

Molesworth Mon 08-Jun-09 22:12:07

I'm 5'9" and Uniqlo jeans are about the right length on me (so they must be a 32-33" inside leg). I don't find the sizing small - I'm normally a 14 and their size 14s come up slightly big on me.

fishie Mon 08-Jun-09 22:17:47

plantwoman i think they are only in london. i find them long enough but variable in size - i have some very different fits. they seem to be larger atm, go down a size or get two to try.

earthpixie Mon 08-Jun-09 22:47:12

I'm a 14 but the jeans I got from there were very small indeed. I think it was my own fault for buying low rise jeans when I have a very long back, though.

OrmIrian Tue 09-Jun-09 10:33:26

Ha! I need a 36" leg so this just confirms Uniqlo can't do jeans for me sad

fishie Tue 09-Jun-09 12:09:28

they have some really nice cropped coloured skinnies for the leggier among us.

RamblingRosa Tue 09-Jun-09 12:45:23

I really like their skinny jeans. I'm 5"8 (and a half ) and a size 8 and their size 8s fit well. If anything I'd say they're on the generous side though.

I don't think they're very long though. I think the skinny jeans work because I don't want skinny jeans that come right down to the floor but I wouldn't buy bootcut or flared jeans there as I think they'd be flapping round my ankles IYSWIM.

I think they're pretty decent quality and a good range of colours for a good price.

Zara's great if you want longer jeans. Lots of styles, good price, longer lenth.
