Magic knickers anyone?

emmamama · 09/05/2005 22:04

I have ben losing weight steadily over the past few months but cannot shift the bulge over my waist band. i have heard that magic knickers not only pull your tummy in but you can pull them up to your armpits, or thereabouts.

Is this true? Where can I get them? Any experiences of them?

do you really want knickers up to your armpits - going to the loo would be a nightmare!

Oooooooooh they sound sexy . They sound magical I could do with a few pairs myself.

they sell them in Debenhams and M&S. I bought a pair from Debenhams, just control pants, and they felt too tight. The up to your armpits ones are very expensive imo

Not sure about the original magic knickers, but M&S do a good range. They do them in three different holds (light to firm) and various styles - from thongs to ones resembling cycling shorts.

Anything that squashes you in must be really uncomfortable though?

They look great and make you feel and look slimmer but then, after about half a bottle of Champagne ime, you realise that you don't actually give a toss what your best friend thinks of your waistline and you slope off to the loo to take them off. The relief, I cannot tell you! Mine were M&S ones. Very funny Smack the pony sketch on this ages ago, where they showed her lovely flat tummy and then panned up to her neck where folds and folds of fat had been pushed up

LOL WWW! So true. I had some on under my dress at the ball on Saturday. Half way through the meal, after various drinks, I decided I couldn't care less and I needed some freedom. So I took them off and hid them in my car. Well I say hid - infact Dh tells me (when he went to collect car next morning) they were in fact in full view on the drivers seat, for all to see!

I think I could put up with a little discomfort for a special occasion, I've had pants that pull my tummy in before, but it just seems to spill out over the top.[YUK}

I wondered if I could get something that pulled everything in. Or should I just resign myself to 'eat less, exercise more'?

And wear a thong

RTKM, as WW says - the relief was really worth it. And when dancing around after the meal, it was so much better!

At least first impressions are all that count aren't they?

The first few moments of seeing someone you make your opinion of them

so if they all saw you with magic Knickers then without they will have remembered that vision of loveliness

OOOh Tatum - 'and a double cotton gusset that opens'

Well is that for the loo or if your new slimline self gets lucky

But with the Spanx models - do you reckon that anyone of them actually need them????

Yes, that's what I'm talking about, thanks tamum.

However they do look really scarey. I'm just imagining all the gags dh will come out with if he saw me in those. I don't think I'd ever hear the end of it.

Now I can't decide. Tamum - do you have personal experience of these?

Yes Not those massive ones, but the medium control ones. I got them to wear under a summer dress for a party (not a very dress-y sort of person, so I needed the security!). They do work really well, far better than the M and S ones IME. You really don't get a bulge- heaven knows where it all goes, but it does!
