Depends on the top
Too long and baggy and you have an outfit that should only be seen on this lady (and 20 years ago at that)

Sorry, I don't like it one bit.

Lizzylou Sat 06-Jun-09 13:54:07

I like it, think it would look good with a plain, semi-fitted (ie. not too tight) top.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm Sat 06-Jun-09 14:34:50

It would be nice without the little split up the back of it. Agree that will look nice with black top (go for a loose fit, fine knit) and opaques with round-toed heels.

ReginaCovington Sat 06-Jun-09 16:59:23

ah hadnt seen the split. yes

FigmentOfYourImagination Sat 06-Jun-09 17:04:13

not keen. Looks cheap.

TheProfiteroleThief Sat 06-Jun-09 17:04:45

I think you need the matching tux wink

georgimama Sat 06-Jun-09 17:06:23

Unless you are, say, Daisy Lowe or Agnyesse (how the *** do you spell her silly name) Deane then you will look like cheap. If you are one of those two and no more than 25 you could probably work it with the other items you have suggested.

ReginaCovington Sat 06-Jun-09 17:07:51

not wiht a plain black wool sweatery thing?
and not being daisy twat? shock

NorbertDentressangle Sat 06-Jun-09 17:09:41

I used to wear one like this in my student days in the 80s/90s but it was teamed with Doc Marten boots and thick black tights so probably not the look you're after wink

In fact I made it from a sequin jumper that I bought in a charity shop.

Believe it or not, it was much admired smile

brimfull Sat 06-Jun-09 17:10:41

sequin skirt needs to be slightly baggy not skin tight

then fine imo

NorbertDentressangle Sat 06-Jun-09 17:11:40

X'd posts with the Daisy/Agynesse ones.

See, I was obviously a trend setter and did it way before those young whippersnappers grin

hve you tried the skirt on OP ?

ReginaCovington Sat 06-Jun-09 17:35:52

I will do though

KristinaM Sat 06-Jun-09 19:00:25

i think if you are young and wear it loose and VERY dressed down as you have suggested then it will be fine

wish i was young enough to wear it [sigh]

ThePhantomPlopper Sat 06-Jun-09 19:35:50

Hmmm. I am undecided.

It's the sort of thing you can't decide if it looks OK, without seeing it on.
