  1. it doesnt matter what shape you are - as long as your swimwear FITS you who cares?
  2. please do not recycle swimwear from 10 years ago - it looks old and terrible
  3. COLOUR and CONFIDENCE are the name of the game - there was every shape and age of body there in the world and they all had a FUN TIME

4, string bikinis do not suit anyone over 20

I always think that when I go to the beach. I love the mix of bodies and ages, agree re own worst enemies.

We went swimming in the river today, I did loads of staring at people in swim suits and bikinis. I thought what a lot of people had surprisingly small tits. We had plastic bags.

I meant to start this thread after our bank holiday a couple of weekends ago.

I had previously been thinking that nice colourful swimsuits à la Boden might be the way to go to cover up a bit but still be "beachy".

They're NOT!!! they just seem to draw attention to you even more because you stand out (note to self, buy a bikini.)

EVERYONE looked better in bikinis than in swimsuits (apart from a couple of pudgy pre-teen girls with bikini tops in completely the wrong place .

Also those puffy ruched round the waist tops just blew up into big balloons in the breeze, like this

O yes ahundredtimes, our beach yesterday was like a small boob convention. But I think I only noticed because I have norks so huge they need to be restrained at all times I think it's refreshing to be on the beach and not give a fark fig what people think. It's only now, two children down the line, that I realise I should have spent my teens and early 20s frolicking about in a bikini as truly, noone cares. Now if I tried, I would frighten small children.

Oh good. Perhaps there's something going on and the nation's tits are shrinking or something? Like all those alligators in Florida turning hermaphrodite.

I'm not sure that bikini's are better you know. Not on everyone. Not without a tan. But perhaps I still care?

I couldn't wear a bikini anymore. dc have seriously ruined my stomach. I do care about that. I would happily wear a one piece and not care, but my stomach is never again seeing the light of day

I'm with you all the way, LittleLamb - my stomach would frighten the children. No-one deserves to have it imposed on them.

There is no way I'm wearing a bikini. Ever.

even without having children, i have managed to ruin my tummy, and there is not a chance in hell i would were a bikini to a beach or any where else the public saw me. However i do own a tankini which is very nice. As it is also very hard to find a swimsuit that fits as i have a long body

Yes, I'm the same, I've slimmed down from a size 18 to a size 10 since having children, but will never ever wear a bikini because of my stretch marks, and excess crikly tummy skin.

Underwired bra sized tankini's or one piece swim suits is what I wear. Preferably halter neck, because they pull my cleavage in, and make me look fabulous.

This is what I've been wearing to the outdoor pool the last couple of days and I've had so many compliments, it makes me feel very glamorous.

I've often thought that all they need to do to tackle teen pregnancy is put my stomach in all its glory on a massive poster. Job done

Yes Cookie me too, in fact I always end up with a size 16 swimsuit due to length issues, despite being a 10 normally

why is everyone in swimming stuff on the beach? are they actually going in the water?

LL, i used to run about topless on the beach without a care in the world. practising long jump on a french beach iirc. i suppose i should be glad i did it then, as i don't ever see me being in good enough shape for that again.

littlelamb · 31/05/2009 17:18
