Why oh why have I been going to M&S for bras for all these years??????

Because they are shite!!!!!!

I went today for maternity bras, i was measured after waiting 30 minutes and woman said I was 32D, that didnt fit, then she tried a 34dd, no good, then she decided I might be an E cup but said she didnt have any maternity in an E cup!

So I trotted off to Bravissimo, had never been before and wasnt swayed by useless marketing twaddle on the wall about how women have never felt so good shopping for underwear blah blah.

No measuring, she looked at my boobs, told me I was wearing the wrong size pre-pregnancy (also measured by M&S), she came in with a bra, put it on, told me to bend over and jiggle my boobs and stood up ...HEP PRESTO the most perfect fitted bra Ive ever worn in my life.
Yes it was more expesive, but my boobs look good and Im comfortable.
I will go back after pregnancy and kit myself out with proper fitting bras.

I left being part of the marketing twaddle highly recommended

I bought mine from M and S today, I've never thought to question them not measuring right. By the way, how many did you buy?

I know theres been a lot of press about how bad they fit bras but Id always ignored it.
But I am now of the opinion they are shit!

I bought two, a black and a white one

I got vouchers for Rigby and Peller last year and my god I'm so much more comfortable, but have loads from Bravissimo too. I found that once I started buying from Bravissimo I couldn't stop...a whole new world was opened up for pretty bras in huge cup sizes!

I'm off to Bravissimo tomorrow and looking forward to a bra that fits. I too have always gone to M&S but they are shit.

I had the same revelation, only at John Lewis when I was getting measured for nursing bras. I was wearing an M&S one at the time and it was so utterly hideous and useless that I was embarrassed.

M&S really are terrible at fitting.

I will measure a certain size but won't necessarily get a bra that fits.

They seem to be using a very strange model to make their bras with.

One of my best bras has come from BHS.

Currently wearing my poorly fitted M&S maternity bra.....back riding up (band too big) and cups too small. The bras aren't the problem, it's the way the teach their staff to measure! They do that stupid thing of adding 4 to the measurement in inches. Thus I am really a 40E, but they say I'm a 44D (which I'm soooo not!) I compromised on a 42DD and really wish I hadn't.

yes I think bravissimo could become a new obsession after baby comes, they have totally opened my eyes to bra fitting. I wonder how they train them to look at you and know.
I have never, ever been in to M&S and theyve picked a perfect fitting bra first time

herbietea - Pre-pregnancy M&S measured me as 34C which is what I was wearing today and the girl at bravissimo said it would have been the wrong size and said that my breasts would be a D normally at least.
Apparently most women are a D cup or above, according to them.
Today she measured me as a 34DD and all 3 styles i tried fitted perfectly, it was hard to choose 2

can you get to a shop, its not just the sizing, its the way they fit you. They make sure the bra is round the smallest part of your back, much lower than any of my M&S bras have ever been.
Then they get you to lean forward, catch hold of the bottom of the bra and jiggle your boobs, then you stand up and they adjust straps.
Totally different experience to M&S

I discovered how shite they were after having DS2.

went to be re-measured after stopping BFing him, and they measured me as a 34c, only when I put on several bra's I had that hidious lumps under both my arms.

the lady just told me that all I needed to do was tone up. no, I just needed a bra that fitted!

went to debenhams then, and got better fitting, and better service, and was made a 36b, which was fab at that point.

I did however lose weight, and so started with 34c, but not happy, and so after flame told me about how wonderful decent bra;s were, went to john lewis, who made me a 32d.

best bra's ever, and I am seriously thrilled to have clothes look fab on me due to decent looking norks

I am currently a 30G and M&S had me in 34D. Hopeless. Poor DS2 was having to root for my nipple somewhere underneath my waistband.

M&S are rubbish with big boobs.

They measured me for years at a 44DD which never felt right, Went to Bravissimo and they fit each one individually and i was measuring a 38G.
It actually looked like i had boobs.
Husband loved it

Seems that M&S measure your chest round the wrong part, or measure big as everyone seems to be saying their cup size went up but chest size was smaller when measured properly.

How are they allowed to carry on if theyre so shit?

Another vote for Bravissimo

Herbietea (total guess) probably a 32 E - or even a 30 F

Most people have the back size too big and the cup size too small.

They do a phone service - don't know how it works though

I think M&S only make bras in four sizes and just try and squeeze us all into one of them.

M and S told me I was wearing the wrong size - incorrect. When I asked to be measured the assistant tutted and slunk off to get someone who I think she just grabbed from one of the tills.

M&S measured me as 36C/customer service rubbish.

John Lewis put me in the most comfortable bra ever, sized 34DD.

Will definitely check out Bravissimo.
