Hi all. Am going to an Indian themed evening here in Budapest on 23 May. I want to wear a Salwar Kameez and have been browsing Ebay. There was one seller who was supposed to be away until 5th May but now seems to be away until 22nd which is too late. I found one nice one on an American site but it would cost 100 US including postage and then I found another one but it would be 180 US!!!! A bit much for one night.

Anyone any ideas? I have looked on-line but have had no luck really.

I suppose really I am asking if any kind MNer would be willing to look for a nice one for me and then they could tell me how much, I could post a cheque and then once cheque is received they could post to me. I don't have Paypal.

Thanks unavailable. Just had a look. Nothing overly exciting but a couple that would be ok. Just wondering about the sizing. Tried to contact them but failed and need to go out now. Will try again later.

where do you live? any chance of you going tpo Green St (east Ham) or Southall or Birmingham/Bradford?

Buda Thu 07-May-09 20:32:08

Thanks for that littleducks! I live in Budapest unfortunately!

I quite like a few of the ones on that site. There is an Indian shop here which I will go to tomorrow and if I can't get anything there I will definitely be ordering one from that site you linked too. Great prices!

Buda Fri 08-May-09 13:54:26

Aaargh!!!! Nothing in shop here in Budapest in my size and have just tried to order from Rani Fashions but they only do UK orders!!!!

skay Fri 08-May-09 14:03:16

Why size 22?

I'm assuming that size 22 would be XXL?
Surely you are not that big!!!

Does Budapest have different sizing to the UK?

skay Fri 08-May-09 14:03:42

Sorry if I have come across as rude.

ChopsTheDuck Fri 08-May-09 14:21:49

Did you try calling them? Other thought it ebay india, might find somethign cheap on there and they generally don't mind shipping internationally.

Buda Fri 08-May-09 14:24:18

I am indeed a size 22 skay!!! How that happened I don't know. There is a size 12 in there fighting to get out!

ChopsTheDuck Fri 08-May-09 14:32:56

this is quite nice. £20 delivered to the UK, and htey do ship worldwide. They have other designs too. Made to order.

Buda Fri 08-May-09 14:44:06

That is the site that littleducks linked to ChopstheDuck. They only accept UK orders - I tried!

lal123 Fri 08-May-09 14:50:29

Could you get it delivered to comeone in UK who could then forward on to you?

foxinsocks Fri 08-May-09 14:51:48

oh buda your post back to skay made me laugh

can't be easy getting clothes like this in budapest!

Buda Fri 08-May-09 14:51:58

No. They will only deliver to billing address.

It's not easy!

Winetimeisfinetime Fri 08-May-09 15:04:15

If you order online Buda, double check the sizing as clothing for the Indian market can sometimes be cut smaller than normal UK sizing - e.g sleeves and armholes can be tight

ChopsTheDuck Fri 08-May-09 16:07:10

sorry buda, i mixed up my links this was the ebay one for £20.

ruddynorah Fri 08-May-09 16:10:10

wow what a faff.

anyhow, if yo have no joy online i'm near bradford so can get you whatever you want really and post it out. look up bombay stores bradford, that's where i'd be going.

colours? budget?

pinkmagic1 Fri 08-May-09 16:10:47

Could you get one made. Many Asian clothing shops will make you one up if you.

Buda Fri 08-May-09 16:44:02

ruddynorah - that is very kind. Just had a look at them and they only go up to a size 16.

ruddynorah Fri 08-May-09 17:22:48

oh really sad

i can try elsewhere though. look up places in bradford, tell me where you find something. would hate to just send something cos i like it! i'm between leeds and bradford so can do either, also dewsbury smile

MuffinToptheMule Fri 08-May-09 17:29:53

bit of a highjack but do you think that the top half of this suit could be used as a sort of kaftan for the beach?

ChopsTheDuck Sat 09-May-09 07:51:42

looks a bit too heavy for the beach to me. On my suits the tops are defo not right to wear with anythign else.

Buda Sun 10-May-09 15:12:33

ruddynorah - are you sure you wouldn't mind getting me something? It won't be a huge pain in the butt? i would really appreciate it as you may be my last hope!

I have tried to look at places in Bradford but haven't had much luck.

I like things fairly simple so something black with embroidery/sequins etc in gold or silver or red or something similar would do. Something in georgette or chiffon rather than cotton. I also like red, purple, vivid blue etc.

Le me know. I will honestly not be in any way offended it is too difficult.
