i didnt even like them 25 years ago

Lovemyshoes Tue 03-Feb-09 17:34:05

Oh I know what you mean, I saw some the other day. Never liked them, or thought they looked nice.

ForeverOptimistic Tue 03-Feb-09 17:36:47

Ewww. I was reading in "The Times" style magazine that snow-wash is going to be really big this summer. I shall be giving that look a miss. Snow-wash has a tendancy to make your backside look 5 times bigger and unless you are under the age of 16 you will end up looking like something off the Jeremy Kyle show.

Maybe I'm getting too old for fashion. hmm

Lovemyshoes Tue 03-Feb-09 17:37:55

Have you seen the harem trousers. I would NEVER wear these

psychomum5 Tue 03-Feb-09 17:39:12

I bought DD2 some stone-washed jeans from H&M at xmas.......wasn;t sure, but they were te only pair in her size and it is only H&M jeans that fit my girls (what with their no-bum-no-hip figures!), and she LOVES them.

they are growing on me now tooblush

thesockmonsteroflurve Tue 03-Feb-09 17:40:37

harem trousers - you cant touch this.

fruitstick Tue 03-Feb-09 17:40:38

oh my word I used to wear harem trousers in the late 80s in the belief that it helped my arse and thighs (even as a 14 year old I was self-conscious). Little did I realise they made me look like a weeble.

ForeverOptimistic Tue 03-Feb-09 17:40:39

Stone-wash, yes that is the name. Hark at me with my snow-wash. blush

southeastastra Tue 03-Feb-09 17:41:31

no they are snow wash. awful first time around awful this time.

psychomum5 Tue 03-Feb-09 17:43:51

we used to call them stone wash, and they are marketed as such too IIRC (cut the tags off!).

altho 'snow-wash' is kind of in keeping with the weatherwink

the only thing that worries me is if they bring back the dalmation reversable padded tops with the extreme bleach-wash jeans that needing to be peeled on............

thesockmonsteroflurve Tue 03-Feb-09 17:46:34

no you need a jumper with a scottie dog on.

MaryMotherOfCheeses Tue 03-Feb-09 17:46:35

My god those girls look skinny

psychomum5 Tue 03-Feb-09 17:48:08

sockmonster, you had one toowinkgrin

lou33 Tue 03-Feb-09 17:48:50

every outfit on that page is hideous

MrsMattie Tue 03-Feb-09 17:49:10

They're for teenagers / very early 20s. Not the likes of (most of) us grin

You know what they say. If you're old enough to remember wearing a fashion first timer around, you're too old to wear it this time!

thesockmonsteroflurve Tue 03-Feb-09 17:49:38

think I bought it from Mark one, are they still around?

OhHowMarvellous Tue 03-Feb-09 17:50:24

Oh Golly. It was surely only a matter of time before the big jean-full-circle-phenomenon train stopped at Fugly Junction.

psychomum5 Tue 03-Feb-09 17:52:51

MK1 closed at xmas round here!!

ok, for those that say "if you can remember it the first time round then you are too old this time round", does that count for leggings too???

thesockmonsteroflurve Tue 03-Feb-09 17:55:14

I hope not I wear lewggins a lot. blush think it might be time for me to age gracefully.

nah, never going to happen.

psychomum5 Tue 03-Feb-09 17:56:51

you are far to glam with excellent norks, to grow old gracefullywinkgrin

thesockmonsteroflurve Tue 03-Feb-09 17:58:00

that is true, I have the norks of an 18yo so I should just pretend the rest matches.

psychomum5 Tue 03-Feb-09 17:59:42

well, according to my DH I have a better bum than I did at 18, so I am holding that dear and using it as my excuse

smurfgirl Tue 03-Feb-09 18:11:16

I love looking on the Topshop website for hmm clothes.

eg. these little beauties

Sidge Tue 03-Feb-09 18:21:36

Oh man alive.

If I saw someone wearing those (or any of those outfits for that matter) I'd think:

A. They were on their way to a bad taste party.

B. They were dressing up in their mum's clothes that they'd found in the loft from 1983.

C. They were trying so desperately hard to be 'of the moment' they didn't realise they actually look like a total muppet.
