A friend bought a gorgeous tea-dress for her sister's wedding which was really demure and pretty. She wore it with the most fantastic red heels (Choos I think) and they added just the right amount of tartiness IYKWIM. You could do the same especially with a black dress - shoe heaven .

oh yes tartiness is sounding good - esp after having baby no 2 and needing to get out of being a mummy and being me for a night

i agree that a plain black dress is perfect for shoe heaven!

Some lovely shoes in Top Shop (Oxford Street) - and some bags too.

Russell & Bromley do lovely shoes with matching handbags.

Depends how much you want to spend. LK Bennetts do lovely shoes and matching bags but are quite pricey.

Yes, R&B is quite pricey. Shoes and bag I bought were £400, but they are v classic and I have used them loads. Lots of comments on how lovely the handbag is.

there is nothing more lovely than a lovely handbag, IMO

I agree about LK Bennett, was just in at lunchtime and they had loads of lovely things. Also, I always think that Jigsaw are fantastic for accessories. Lovely bags, shoes, scarves, jewellery etc at the moment.

see, i never get to these shops cos i live in the middle of bloody nowhere, but i think jones is a good website, the lk bennett seems non-existent and the russell and bromley have a very limited section

might treat myself to a trip to edinburgh though, am salivating at the thought of shoe shop galore, and you can try them on, prance about in the shop instead of trying in the house, not fitting and having to send them back

thanks again girls

I just bought some fabulous sandals in Peacocks today for only £12 and they had some lovely bags, so if you can get there its well worth a look
