Boyfriend Fit Jeans

OllieWollieWoo · 26/10/2008 12:40

My lovely pair of boyfriend fit jeans are about to give up the ghost due to overwearing and I need a new pair.
Tried some on in Next but the waistband was too low (major muffin top alert) and they were just too uncomfortable. Found some on the White Stuff website that are okísh but does anyone else have any recommendations? (Im a 12 regular)

topshop mooch or Replay are the best IMO

what are the chief characteristics of "boyfriend fit" jeans?

Quite a loose fitting, straight leg jean - without being too baggy! I find the ones I've had v comfortable for everyday - and flattering too. My sister swear by a slouch fit - but I can never see what the diff is between them and boyfriend fit!

Got some from Tesco think they were the slouch fit too. So comfy and only £15

OOoo - they look just what I'm after. How low rise are they tho? (ie do you expose butt checks when bending over???!!!)

Also - what size would be a regular 12 - 30 or 32 inch waist? I'm always hopeless at guessing that and I always thought that TopShop things came up small???

I think 12 is a 30. I am size 10 and wear 28 in Topshop. I would say Topshop is small though as I am an 8 in shops like Oasis and Next. HTH

I think Topshop come up big, I am a 14 and Topshop 32's are a tad too big, 30's are a tad too small. Wish they did a 31.

I swear by River Island jeans.

The fit is pretty spot on, they come in different lengths and always make ya bum look fab. The quality is good too.

Check em out on Ebay. Although they are popular (with good reason) so hold their price well, you can get a good pair for around 20 quid instead of 40 quid.

I second River Island jeans - have two different pairs of boyfriend ones. Great fit, and usually a bit quirky as well (in the little details). I'd say the sizing was big, in that both my pairs are a 12, and fit perfectly, when I'm usually a 14 elsewhere.

yes, maybe they are slightly generous (or perhaps I am a generous size 12 )

thing is about boyfriend jeans is that they are supposed to be worn baggy. I see loads of women squeezed into them and they look hidious. You should buy the size you normally are and that is how they are supposed to look. Topshop mooch are supposed to be loose fitted to your body not tight. (not saying anyone is buying the wrong size btw but lots of people do)

I got some from Fatface a couple of years ago. They are called Bombara, and I think FF are still doing them. DS is now 7 weeks old and they fit again, yey! I am a 14 L and i'd say the sizing is just right .

widgypog Loose fitting - good, Falling to your knees without a belt - Tad too big imo.

Agree that they look bad if you try to shoehorn yourself into them.

All Topshop jeans are a little generous imo.

H and M jeans on the other hand..........teeny weeny.
