I went to Harvey Nicks, got a Dries van Noten charcoal velvet jacket with a huge collar and a shot silk orange full length skirt... and have worn both since so understand your urge to be different. (haven't seen anything of late though!)

i am not sure about that dress on me,

i am not scottish,

i like this in the niche collection, 6 along, peacock seattle, but it is too expensive, and possibally too, well, you know, much

traditional dresses look great in black and white pics. my green dress looked drab in black and white pics but good in colour.

I realy like the black Ravenna and the peacock seattle is a lovely colour.

the monsoon style is gorgeous and really good value, and you could really splash out on an amazing shrug/jacket or even a handmade shawl.

the madam butterfly is beautiful. more green than is showing in those pics.
i tried it on after a day of boring white dresses and loved it.

Hey snoop, congrats and all.

How tall are you? only I think the maxi style works best if taller imo.

I had a Suzanne Neville dress - she makes such amazing gowns and that peacock colour is just stunning.

i saw a beautiful one in my dressmakers shop last week. (i popped in to say hello)
it was gold(ish) with dusky pink embroidery and lovely detail but no sparkles.
would look great with your hair and skin.
