here. Does she like Cath Kidston?

There are 2 Palenque's in Edinburgh, I would imagine there is one in Glasgow.

Bah they don't. Only 6 shops in total and 2 of those are in Edinburgh!

fimbo... tut tut. could you buy a single actual thing from that hippy site? please say no.

she's the type for whom cath kidston happened a decade ago. she's very nice, tho. came to visit me in hospital nearly every day, armed with delicious (i mean really really delicious) home made meals.

that is not the sort of person whose birthday i should have forgotten.

don't know about the slippers or cashmere socks. she laughs openly at my lovely slippers (geisswein, felted wool) and i think her floors would wreck cashmere.

Sorry, have just been trawling whole of MN looking for somewhere to use that link.

Serieusement, get her a couple of lovely Persephone books they've got some cooking titles actually. And they published I Capture the C so might be what you would call Her Line.

If she's cooky and into the whole culture of food and food writing then this or this is fun if she's quite eco as it's the original free foody book. THey have also an Aga one if she's country kitchen type.

They have a nice plain notebook too and quality is absolutely first class. Plus matching bookmark. (Matching endpapers that is.)
