I keep seeing people wearing Abercrombie & Fitch sweaters and tops etc. Does anyone know roughly how much their hoodies and t-shirts would be?
thanks in advance...

A&F store in London is on Saville Row / Regents St. Hilarious experience shopping in there: it's so dark and trendy it's like shopping in a nightclub. As for the doormen...hot flush alert! You need to be mega skinny and toned to wear their stuff really well. I'm a size 10 and their medium t shirts are tight. if you know someone going to US get them to get bits for you - it's much cheaper. The website is expensive and you often get stung for a tax when it arrives as well. Really good quality items though.

If you ever go the US definitely worth going to a store. I went to Boston 4 years ago, got loads of stuff which I still wear all the time. Jeans are especially great. It wasn't expensive there - equivalent of UK Gap prices.

I think they opened their first UK shop in Jermyn St (? I think) last year. Not sure of the prices, might be quite expensive here.

Btw if you order things from their website make sure you get UK sizes rather than US - and smaller UK size than you might normally get. The general rule is US 2 sizes smaller than UK (ie UK 12 = US 8) but A&F seem to still come up big. I'm 10/12 UK but A&F 4/6 fit perfectly.

V cheap in Aus ... the only store that has the license to sell A+F here is an outlet store. I have a fab thick warm fleece hoodie that cost AU$50.

It's literally half price in the US - until the exchange rate changes anyway.

I have a fab hoodie which cost about £35 (bought in US, would be £75 here).

Ebay is awash with it, but beware dodgy copies.

I don't like their sales pitch or general philosophy though - ie only very young, very slim blonde people need bother trying to wear their clothes, also the stores are so dimly lit you need a miners lamp to find the stuff. I can't wear their t-shirts as they don't go up to my size (UK 14, big boobs) so stuff them.

Their MD was quoted as saying he doesn't want old or ugly people in his stores, and that he will only employ the 'high status' kids from local schools and colleges in his stores, but surveys show he's happy to employ ordinary non-perfect people and even blacks and asians in the back room, where the pay is even poorer.

The stuff is all made in Bangladesh etc, so don't imagine it's worker friendly despite the price - you're lining this guy's pockets, not those of manufacturing or sales staff.

If you're shopping in the US I recommend American Eagle which sells similarly 'preppy' gear at lower prices and in sizes to fit most women. Check out their website, ae.com.

I bought some bottoms from ebay, they look authentic and were half the price so I'm not complaining.
Also ordered some from cheapabercrombie but not arrived yet!!
I am a size L in their fleecy bottoms, they think a UK12 is an L, never mind I just ignore the label
