I'm thinking about giving it a try, I am a size 10 but flabby, but I eat alot of cocolate and cakes and feel I need to stop for my skin as well as my falbby belly...

If you have tried it let me know your thoughts and if it worked how long did it work for?

cantpickyourfamily Thu 02-Oct-08 21:22:19

Anyone tried it?

Try and find a therapist who uses Susie Orbach's "Fat Is A Feminist Issue" method. Or buy the book and do it on yourself. Amazing stuff, and permanent.

A friend of mine has and she looks fab.

I listened to "make me thin". If you do it 3 times a day, that's a whole hour less when you get up and eat, so it must have some benefit

cantpickyourfamily Thu 02-Oct-08 21:45:43

oh so it can be permanent, I do not need to loose alot of weight as I am a size 10 and weigh less than 9 1/2 stone... I just need to eat less crap as it is messing up my skin and I am flabby... gosh I really hope it works...

cantpickyourfamily Thu 02-Oct-08 21:46:14

I know people do as when I listened to my birth hypnotherapy cd I was told not to eat chips. She's given me the wrong cd.

lou33 Thu 02-Oct-08 21:55:55

he doesnt talk about clients to me, but in general terms he has said he has treated people with eating issues

LetThemEatCake Thu 02-Oct-08 21:56:57

I don't know exactly - have not had acu for that reason, but have had for preg/ fertility and have utter faith in it.

I go every 2 weeks. £40 a session.

Have you tried a detox? can be fab too. I did a 28-day one, shed a stone, my skin glowed and I never went back to eating according to my old habits

this is from his website...

That's what most people who are overweight need to do. And for a lot of people who are overweight, cutting out sugar is all they need to do.

Of course that can be much easier said than done, particularly if you've been used to eating sweet things since you were a small child. But it can be done; it's just a matter of reprogramming your mind so that you are less inclined to eat sugar containing foods and maybe reject them altogether. Now you might be thinking that you don't have a particularly sweet tooth, and that sugar isn't the root of your problem. But you have to remember that many foods, particularly processed foods, contain a lot of added sugar. Something that may surprise you is that many savoury foods contain varying amounts of sugar.

Sugar in it's natural form is full of nutrients, but when it is processed, all of the goodness is stripped out. Processed sugar is not a food. It is, in fact, a poison in the true sense of the word. It weakens the immune system and it prevents the digestive system from working correctly. It affects the blood sugar levels to a point that it causes mood swings, and may even be a factor in causing depression. Sugar actually results in fat being produced in the body and is directly related to diabetes.

There can be other contributing factors to being overweight, such as emotional issues (which can cause so-called comfort eating). The good news is that hypnotherapy is very good for dealing with emotional issues.

We will use a combination of hypnotherapy and neuro-linguistic programming (or NLP for short) to modify the programme in your brain, so that you take back control of your eating habits. And when you take back control of your eating habits you take back control of your weight. For most people it's that simple.

My weight programme typically consists of five sessions spread over a period of about three months so that we can find the right approach for you and monitor your progress.

And the cost of the package is £195. For that you will get five sessions, which would otherwise cost you £300. So you save £105.

no just wondering if he thought it could help people to stop eating habits even if they are not over weight...

lou33 Thu 02-Oct-08 21:58:07

oh i see, yes he can

MaryAnnSingleton Thu 02-Oct-08 21:58:15

the title got left out ..it said 'cut out sugar' !

SmugColditz Thu 02-Oct-08 22:00:20

If you are a size ten but flabby, you don't need to control your eating, you need to do more weight resistant exercise.

cantpickyourfamily Thu 02-Oct-08 22:02:43

I def need more exercise but I cannot stop myself from eatin rubbish, I could easily eat a whole galazy bar in one evening and I am talking about the big famuily size bars...

cthea Thu 02-Oct-08 22:59:19

cantpickyourfamily - it didn't make me thin but it gave me a good night's sleep. DH started taking the piss with deepening his voice and talking trance-inducing-like so it's become a joke. My next bright idea was to buy a side-stepper from Tchibo. I think I need a tape to make me use it, though.

TsarChasm Thu 02-Oct-08 23:07:24

It depends if you are able to be hypnotised.

I tried it a few times to lose weight but no way can I ever be hypnotised. I think it's pants.

The woman doing it was talking to me through headphones and kept slurping coffee. It was all I could listen to in the end.
