OK all you apples out there..... can you help me get some jeans

Think I am a typical 'apple' shape. 5'9" tall, fairly long, slimish (for my size) legs, large waist big bust. I have lost 2st, trying to loose more and doing OK. Having a real problem with jeans. Size 18 at the moment are baggy on hips and legs but OK on waist. I tend to go for below the waist fit, ones I have at the moment are Boden bootleg - got them in the sale ages ago and have only just got into them. They are looking too big on me. I got a size 16 in the sale (Boden) and they don't go round my waist but fit great everywhere else. I HATE shopping for jeans. Anyone know any makes that might suit my figure? Am I right to be getting ones below the waist? Have never ever suited high waist things, even when young and slim, have always had a boyish figure but with norks

Oh, liking both of those. River Island would be great for now as I want to loose another 2 stone. Maybe I could try Hudson when I get to goal . The trousers that fitted me best when I was slimmer (slacks and jeans) were Banana Republic Martin fit. I hate the thought of paying UK prices for them, so want to loose a bit more then get some sent by a friend from USA.

Gap jeans are terrible on me

Report
fishie · 16/09/2008 12:01

you need slim fit jeans. gap do some but boy are they tight on the tum. or the ones i have are. colleague has river island ones which are good. i've got uniqlo skinnies, they are very short in the body so are round my hips really, avoiding waist problem.

I went in Gap last week but did have DS with me (3.6) so not a great idea. Got overwhelmed by all the different styles and they didn't seem to have many in an 18. Went out feeling fat. Maybe need to revisit without kids and grab a nice looking assistant.

skinny bootlegs is a new one on me... ah when I was a lass, there were only a few styles to choose from. Have still got my Levi red label size 12 nestling at the back of my wardrobe. I just like gazing at them

skinny bootlegs are tight to the knee, great for those of us with no arse or thighs to speak of

Normal ones flap around my arse and thighs making me look FAT

Yup, thats me, no arse . DH doesn't have an arse either.... I feared for our children. DD has a lovely bum think she will be OK. DS - no chance, not even sure how he manages to stay on the loo seat without sliding off

oh sorry cd

so hard to marry jeans size to clothes size

i.e. a 30 fits me

you would look at me and say i'm a 12-14

but my hips are prob a small 12
my waist is prob a 16 (actually i don't have one)

i have a skinny friend who wears the same size jeans as i do, because she has wider hips

confused?
