I am in love with these boots but am not sure if they are a bit too 'mistress of the dungeon'...

This site doesn't do links, but if you can be bothered, click on 'Women', 'Footwear', 'Long Boots' and they are the first pair there, £79.99, Platform Lace-up boot.

I saw them in real life yesterday and they are soooo gorgeous (nicer than they look in the pic), but a little voice in the back of my mind is saying they should really be accessorised with a whip and uncomfortable underwear....

What d'you reckon? (bear in mind I'm 42 - if I were in my 20's I'd have bought them, no hesitation!)

And if I do, what should I wear them with (apart from the whip and leather corset...)?

oh-they are ok. they'd be good with a longish skirt

They're ok. I'm in my 20s and wouldn't wear them, but mainly because I have nothing to wear them with other than jeans. And I wouldn't be able to walk in them. And they look a bit cheap and shiny. Actually, I don't like them at all.

they are fine

i was expecting to see some kind of fetish wear!

i have a pair of just over the knee stiletto boots that i am deliberating whether or not they look a bit too dominatrix to wear in public or not

they are naot my cup of tea but i think the leather looks nice, matt leather, if it wqs patent i would say NOOOO
the toe is nice too, makes it less mistress of the dungeon

beansmum. Not so shiny or cheap looking in RL, but thanks for the input...

MMS, thanks, that's a good idea. I have no longish winter skirts (ooh! ooh! Shopping opportunity!!) as my legs are the one bit of me I like so in winter I tend to live in two inches above the knee skirts (with opaques) or skinny jeans - but I think a short skirt with those boots would deffo look a bit streetwalkerish (not a great look for the school run...)

Sorry x-posts!

It was actually DH that made the 'dungeon mistress' comment, which was why I thought I'd better canvas more sensible opinions here before I made a decision...wink

lou33, I have also seen a lovely pair of over the knee stiletto boots but have decided they are a step too far (if DH thinks the first pair are dominatrixy, he'll have a heart attack if I were to buy anything over the knee!)

lou33 Fri 12-Sep-08 09:37:04

luckily i dont have a dh to worry about grin

i was about to say they would look ok with a shorter skirt and thick tights as well, as that's what i do, but i just noticed the streetwalker comment blushgrin

You're young, lou, you can get away with it... I would look very very muttonish if I tried it (I wear mine with DM shoes or flat chunky boots n' thick tights <80's throwback>)

nappyaddict Fri 12-Sep-08 09:54:38

i prefer the first ones on the 3rd page.

nailpolish Fri 12-Sep-08 09:55:14

actually i think black leather is very naff and common

but thats just my opinion

nappyaddict Fri 12-Sep-08 09:56:28

on shoes too?

nailpolish Fri 12-Sep-08 09:58:45

i like the grey runched ones on page 2

now they are nice

nailpolish Fri 12-Sep-08 09:58:57

yes sheos too nappy

lou33 Fri 12-Sep-08 09:59:11

lol i am 41!

TsarChasm Fri 12-Sep-08 10:00:07

I really like them. (I'm 43 and would wear them.) Would look good with winter skirts and dresses. Not jeans or trousers unless cut off though.

But then maybe I know nothing, everyone loves those biker boots atm. I was looking at some yesterday and I hate them. So clumpy and blokey.

nappyaddict Fri 12-Sep-08 10:00:31

actually thinking about it the only pair of black shoes i own are black pumps which you would think are naff cos they are leathery i think and black satin peep toes - not sure if those are naff or not grin

lou33 Fri 12-Sep-08 10:05:26

i am not doing v well on this thread, have been clumping about in biker boots for years as well!

lovecat Fri 12-Sep-08 10:13:05

I'll get me coat...blush

nappyaddict Fri 12-Sep-08 10:13:09

oh i forgot my black peep toe wedges aswell.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore Fri 12-Sep-08 10:21:58

i love them. but i am in my 20's sorry. my mum would look great in them though. if i bought them i know for a fact she would borrow them. and she is 47.

id wear with heavy winter skirts or over skinny jeans.

lou33 Fri 12-Sep-08 10:31:09

lou33 Fri 12-Sep-08 10:31:37

TsarChasm Fri 12-Sep-08 10:32:40
