I really love this sweater but can in no way justify the cost - PLEASE come and be rude about it and put me off!

Here it is

I keep drooling over it - not sure why I like it so much, I just do - even DH said "coo, she's - er, I mean that's nice" hmm grin

Chequers Thu 11-Sep-08 20:44:39

It wouldn't fit under a coat.

LilRedWG Thu 11-Sep-08 20:45:10

Right - Just think, everytime your DH looks at you in that sweater he will really be imagining the model from the picture! Do you really want that?

chapstickchick Thu 11-Sep-08 20:45:42

youd get makeup on the collar and your wrists will get cold cos its short lengthed........any mark would show up on it and you could only wear smart tops under

Carmenere Thu 11-Sep-08 20:46:00

It is a bit middle aged tbh.

beansmum Thu 11-Sep-08 20:46:23

I HATE the sleeves. I don't mind 3/4 length on tight tops, but when they are flared like that they just get in the way. And if you have short arms like me they are always too long. I wouldn't wear that colour either.

differentID Thu 11-Sep-08 20:46:27

if you have big norks it's going to make them look even bigger, if you have small norks, it's going to make them tiny
Is that what you mean?grin

cornsilk Thu 11-Sep-08 20:46:30

It won't cover your tummy or your bum. What about fat days?

traceybath Thu 11-Sep-08 20:46:53

it may make you look a little chunky and for that price i'd personally want more cashmere and less wool

pooka Thu 11-Sep-08 20:47:35

Looks a bit matronly to me.

Purplepillow Thu 11-Sep-08 20:47:53

OMG thats horrid, you'll get drafts up the sleeves, chills on your tummy and the neck will really annoy you! grin

Did that put you off it enough then? winkgrin

beansmum Thu 11-Sep-08 20:47:54

You have to have it done up all the time, that would annoy me.

used2bthin Thu 11-Sep-08 20:47:58

I got one reeeally similar from Primark. Well ok not the angora bit but the style. For £8.

TigerFeet Thu 11-Sep-08 20:48:00

It won't keep you warm - it doesn't button all the way! You'd forever be pulling it closed at the bottom

expatinscotland Thu 11-Sep-08 20:48:38!

what a horrible, boring colour.

would make penelope cruz look washed out.

it makes the model look frumpy.

AND it's a bloody rip off.

southeastastra Thu 11-Sep-08 20:48:42

looks like something my nan used to wear, think she knitted it herself

Doobydoo Thu 11-Sep-08 20:48:51

It's IVORY! How old are your sprogs? It would last approx 5 mins in my house. It is fab though.Maybe in different colour!

nickytwotimes Thu 11-Sep-08 20:49:06

It'll never keep your belly warm...

pococonejo Thu 11-Sep-08 20:49:20

Blimey you lot are vicious! grin

Right, bearing in mind your previous comments, and noting the prices of the following, do you genuinely hate either or both of these:

Contender number 1

Contender number 2

SorenLorensen Thu 11-Sep-08 20:49:20

I'm not keen on those 3/4 length sleeves either - I always feel like I'm wearing children's clothes when I wear sleeves like that. And that high neck would bug me (and not be good for anyone of more ample norks than that model). And the colour! You just know you would splat spag bol or some other "this will never come out and there will always be a faint orangey stain" foodstuff on it - bad enough when the item in question has cost £30...devastating if it's £110.

Have I put you off yet?

GrimmaTheNome Thu 11-Sep-08 20:50:12

Its got a neck like an old-fashioned diving suit, and then it gapes down the front.

SorenLorensen Thu 11-Sep-08 20:50:13

Oooh, we have more knitwear to peruse. My comments relate to original knitwear grin

EffiePerine Thu 11-Sep-08 20:50:44

are you thin? If not, I wouldn't go for either tbh

OneLieIn Thu 11-Sep-08 20:50:53

So its £55 per button!

expatinscotland Thu 11-Sep-08 20:50:53

no. 1 is okay, but they're all going to add a lot of weight.
