Help me find a nice skirt or two

I want some skirts that I can wear casually with boots and thick tights. I want something knee length and am pretty realxed about patterns and fabrics.

I'm 5ft 3 and a size 10. Also on a bit of a limited budget, so much as I like Boden etc. I can't really afford it.

Whats your upper price limit?
I like Great Plains, Monsoon and Principles for skirts but Monsson esp might be too ££??

Too expensive? Love it though:

And my neice got an excellent skirt from primark, high waisted (she wears with thick leather waist belt), mostly black with a wide, coloured, horizontal stripe just down from the waistband. Is hard to describe but it was only 8 quid or something so worth a look?

Jewels, that skirt is a bit ££ but totally the type of thing I would like. I think I need to bite the bullet and spend a few pounds on something really nice

Pinky this is from another thread, I know nothing about the company [never heard of it], but it is a bit cheaper than oasis one and looks good I think (you may want to go for non-black opi tights though)

I really like this, but it's expensive - what do you think? www.toast.co.uk/product2.aspx?categorypath=daywear%2fskirts&productid=C3W8V

With these (expensive) boots?

I have bought all of my winter skirts (and summer skirts!) from ebay. I've got some fabulous new and named brand ones for not so much money.

When I'm finished with them i'm going to put them back on and sell them

I'm currently wearing this little number from Dotty P's
with purple tights.

Its quite lightweight so is good for this time of year.

Its a little on the short side for me (luckily I have fab legs, my saving grace, along with my modesty) but as you are 5.3 it would prob be knee length or just below.

I just bought this, it looks nicer on than in the picture. Really comfy and looks smart without being officey.

Thank you all. THis is why I love MN. It is so great to get different ideas, and there are a couple of companies I have never heard of so will check out their websites further.

THank you

I have been looking for exactly the same sort of things...

Also what tops would you wear with them for casual wear?

Tops? Mmm casual wear I reckon something definately fitted (if the skirt is flary) and either tucked in, or if the top is not that long, just out. Maybe a nice fitted fine knit jumper would also look nice? Even a little tight t-shirt would look nice.

For straighter skirts, less fitted tops.
