or rather, i would have needed it this afternoon when i was forced by a saturation with Peppa Pig to take my dd to the playground in the pouring rain...

so i want a rainjacket (not a raincoat, i have nice ones for work), with a hood, that looks COOL/STYliSH and not too mumsy. I want to buy it online and i want it delivered asap.

OMG - Was just about to start same thread. Yes, also want a cool hooded jacket that is not hideous mummy anorak!

Majeika Tue 09-Sep-08 18:39:31

me too!

TheNaughtiestGirlIsaMonitor Tue 09-Sep-08 18:39:32

Me too. I went out with one rainmac zipped up the front, and another one; the type you pull over your head, around my middle to keep my legs dry. I looked about ten sea miles beyond fcuknig ridiculous. But I was dry grin

CostaRicanCod Tue 09-Sep-08 18:40:02

CostaRicanCod Tue 09-Sep-08 18:41:01

SoupDragon Tue 09-Sep-08 18:41:37

Do you want it to be waterproof as well?

beforesunrise Tue 09-Sep-08 18:42:09

mmhhhh... nice try but not quite IT!!!

CostaRicanCod Tue 09-Sep-08 18:43:07

this is an eternal mn quest
the options are
a barbour

a boden thing
a northface idn of thing
a drizabone

TheNaughtiestGirlIsaMonitor Tue 09-Sep-08 18:43:29

That's nice, but is it rainproof or shower resistant. A shower proof coat is just not good enough!! I have to walk over a mile to dc's school and back in the rain some days. Hence, hideous homemade arrangement using two rainmacs.

SoupDragon Tue 09-Sep-08 18:43:35

Boden aren't waterproof.

Majeika Tue 09-Sep-08 18:43:56

am liking the green one on the left of the first link

TheNaughtiestGirlIsaMonitor Tue 09-Sep-08 18:44:11

next have a rain mac, rain proof, but it looks like an 8 yr olds. =Red with flwoers on it.

TheNaughtiestGirlIsaMonitor Tue 09-Sep-08 18:45:40

Are those Boden ones rainproof? I'm a single mother so I don't think Boden would send me a rain mac!? It's not in their mission statement to provide SMs with patterned appareil.

Saw a nice Banana Republic one in Grazia today. But can't find it on their website. It's a black parka.

squeaver Tue 09-Sep-08 18:47:56

Sorry looked again, it's dark blue. £140.

Carmenere Tue 09-Sep-08 18:54:31

I bought this today. It is GREAT, looks lovely on me and keeps me really dry. Ok it is not stylish but, hey, dd seems to like me in it.

cazzybabs Tue 09-Sep-08 18:55:04

I like the pink ones in joules. I really like all the stuff in their at the mo

SoupDragon Tue 09-Sep-08 18:57:23

Not exactly stylish flowery version

PatsyCline Tue 09-Sep-08 19:08:46

I just bought this from Planet. It has kept me dry and toastie warm through several downpours and it looks great (even though I say it myself!). The hood actually looks nice up AND keeps the rain off. It's a miracle. grin

CostaRicanCod Tue 09-Sep-08 19:09:47

you cnaget cheaper at millets

beforesunrise Tue 09-Sep-08 20:30:39

what do you think of this one? apart from the price, obviously

basically i just want a waterproof jacket that's fitted and feminine, while practical at the same time. why is it so hard to find????

beforesunrise Tue 09-Sep-08 20:34:08

or this one:

beforesunrise Tue 09-Sep-08 20:35:33
