Hello everyone, old and new.

This is about feeling better about yourself and looking and feeling better etc. But mainly we chat and laugh quite a lot, which has all got to help towards happiness etc.

The rules (anyone can join):

  • Sunscreen at all times

  • No or little booze. Wine or Champagne or whatever at the weekend is allowed if you want it

  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can

  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day

  • Apply body cream as often as possible

  • Use hand cream

  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos

  • Eat healthily

  • Be happy

The idea is that we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Some people are doing India and Neris's Idiot Proof Diet (Atkins, more or less), others are doing Slimy World, others are just being as healthy as possible.

Welcome everyone, have a good week.

Oh good, so have I.

Chinese restaurant party buffet anyone? Even the moist towellettes were deep fried. I did eat a few tomato rose garnishes but that was a sop.

I've had a calm, serene, peaceful day (yes DH took the boys out, lol. They had a karate competition and they all came back with either a medal or a trophy, so they're happy too).

Tomorrow I get serious about exercise.

Have a good week everyone.

Well done Ureb boys. Ureb, how are you feeling my lovely?

Marina, WWW, I see you your indulgences and raise you chicken pie, Quavers and home made plum cake . Not doing awfully well here on the food stakes and haven't even left the house today.

Have a good week everyone.

Oh no batters, that's awful, poor you. I would do exactly the same in your position, in fact I DID, on Sunday I said to ds "you didn't do an 11+ test yesterday so you need to do one in a minute" and he burst into tears so I gave him a big hug and let him off. I have checked the dates and I was right, phew! It's 2nd Oct and 8th Oct.

I have just had 3 sausages for breakfast and my vitamins. Drank wine yesterday as already confessed so must do better this week.

Yes Cam,tell us about the date!

What's CERN done now? I've been out on longest school run ever, have I missed something?

Yesterday had toast, roast pork, apple sauce, stuffing, roast pots & lots of veg. No pudding. Marmite sandwiches & salad for tea. Lots of water & carrots.

Feet are looking rough again. Everything else duly slathered.

Cleo looked great and was very excited. Teaching asst was Victoria and looked terrifying! But we were a bit late so I didn't have time for photo - will try later (when costume has been wrecked).

Enjoy the sunshine.

I love the beginning of this thread and it's promise of Champagne

I have had a nice weekend, finally got out into the garden yesterday as the rain held off long enough to rip up the blackened sunflowers that were looming ominously over the garden

however I was so happy to be gardening that I couldn't be bothered cooking so sent dh out for fish and chips

so is fresh air and exercise cancelled out by chips, do we think?

and already I have walked for about 45 minutes. I have nearly killed myself getting dd1 across town to preschool on time and then dashing back home for my laptop and finally dragging myself down to the office. I was walking from 8.35 to about 9.50am in the end, with a break in the middle to hang the washing out

I need a rest now please

www - well done for cutting ds some slack. Everyone needs a break sometime.

batters - sorry it's all a bit shitty, I wish I could wave a magic wand over your dd. I daresay the tutoring would be easier if both of you were getting more sleep.

ureb - congrats to the boys, you must be running out of shelf space

I love Chinese buffets, haven't been to one in years though .

cam - date news please.....

Mixed weekend food-wise. Went to a praty on Sat and ate pizza and drank too much wine - lots of fun though so high on happiness.

Better yesterday - lots of salads and fish stew. No wine!

Currently eating left over lentil shepherds pie - so polishing a bootcamp and credit cruch halo. Am tightening belt in both areas this month....

Feel incredibly gloomy though as my cold seems to be returning again (see my "would you go to the doctors if you had had a cold for three months" thread). Feel wiped out to be honest and with the prospect of a three hour meeting this afternnon I now have a headache....

Batters - your poor dd and you. have you tried all the obvious stuff like lavender oil and relaxation?

Can I butt in?

Or is it better form to go and stand next to you all and laugh when everyone else does in the hopes that someone will talk to me?

I tend to the former in playgrounds and the latter at parties.

Not sure what this thread most resembles...

Oh bugger it, going to butt in.

Youngest child now at school. I go back to work after half term. In the meantime there is the small matter of my final OU exam to get through (which may put a kybosh on the early nights bit...)

Need to sort myself out before getting back in the classroom after nearly 5 years.

Panic.

Hello TheFallenMadonna, welcome and yes, of course you can join in, this is a v friendly thread.

I have just had a spinach salad with tuna, anchovies, green beans, pine nuts, tomatoes, cucumber, quails eggs and vinaigrette for lunch. I wasn't even particularly hungry but made myself have it. Tonight we're having lemon sole with herb butter (Waitrose ready meal)and I am feeling happy as I've done loads of chores today AND worked and made ds and dd's and my packed lunches for tomorrow so when they come in I can actually spend some time with them rather than just doing chores.

Foofoo, I hope you get that sorted, sounds a right pita. Anyone arranging a 3 hour meeting should be shot imo, hope it went ok.

Swift drop in to say I'll mail you batters and hello to the FallenMadonna. Eaten well, power walked, drunk water. Stress levels high as dh has man flu and work is grim. But otherwise good.

Just marking the thread.

Poor you and dd Batters - think I would have done the same. But jeez I know how nice you smell (I am a Soap and Glory fan too ).

Welcome to the FallenMadonna - can you say what OU course you are doing?

WWW - are you on a carb/sugar high or does it now make you feel like crap?

Back to work and not much exercise today, although I am trying to just be more active and might dust off the rebounder (can't believe I feel the need to do something every day - it can't last). Back to no booze (am feeling strangely competitive inspired after seeing how someone I know has finally lost loads of weight and is now close to being slimmer than me, albeit not a hard thing to achieve. And my Trousers of Truth are begging for some more space).

Where did last week go? Am just about getting in to the swing of things with school runs, lunches, etc. but am feeling whacked. Back in work so things are hectic again and DH and I are back to talking only about the children and work.

Appointment next week to check out the lump. Am having terribly wakeful nights and I think that may be the cause.

Only managed two gym visits last week but am walking the children to school and cycling to work so am getting some exercise.

Food has not been good. Lots of cheese over the weekend and wine. Early night and healthy fodder tonight which I must now go and prepare.

Moonshine, carbs and sugar make me feel like crap tbh. I am looking forward to getting back to it and so far so good. I need to WALK this week, once I have my trainers back tomorrow I will do.

Hi all, I am officially the worst member of bootcamp.

I've picked some fruit from the garden, but not actually eaten any, in preference for lemon cakes. I've WATCHED lots of tennis (ds1 is very happily into it, so I get to watch lots of Federer), and therefore been hideously late to bed all week, and done no exercise.

Batters - sorry you are having a bad time with dd. Hope things improve soon. xxx

Www- I love the thread title. We are such an intelligent thread!

Sympathies to everyone doing 11+. Ds1 is working for his Grade 1 piano and violin this term, so we are trying to fit in lots and lots of practice - he's pretty good about doing it, but I need to make sure I help him more this term - which is hard work sometimes!

batters - I hope things get better soon.

I jogged today but am slightly worried about my knee. Need to up the stretching (from nothing, ). Do you think Body Pump would be ok tomorrow?

Food good today and enough water and a bike ride - not too terribly far but fast enough to be a bit breathless.

Foo - the lentil shephard's pie sounds good. How do you make it?

Sobernow - that vague feeling of permanent hunger is something I try to live with but end up scarfing something bad in the evening. I can handle it in the day.

Everyone sounds like they're doing really well with rebounding (what is that?) and I think two gym visits a week is good. Lemon cakes instead of fresh fruit sounds quite appealing now... mmmm.

Marina - hope your husband gets well soon.

DoN - glad Cleo worked out!

WWW - where are your trainers?

And welcome, theFallenMadonna!
