I'm going to a ball. I feel chubby and frumpy. Help!!

I'm not overweight but I am bursting out of my clothes. I'm a size 12 but flabby and squidgy and not feeling my best.

I don't have great legs. My arms were fine but lately they feel like chunky, saggy, bingo winged, sausages.

I could hash together something from my wardrobe that would do........but I'd like to feel FABULOUS!

Anyone got a wand? Suggestions welcome!

Thank you! My fairy godmother floated in

Its not a ball-gown ball just a posh work do ball, so I guess it doesn't have to be full length. Men will be in kilts and other black tie.

I'm always best with colour (red or green suit me best), black draws all my colour away. I used to say I had a great small waist but my shape has gone a bit rectangle-ish.

And heels I love heels and it has to be heels for a ball I think. But I have the most difficult feet and tend to wear flats or kitten heels at best.

That dress is a stunner!!! I adore it. Worried my hips would look like Nigella's........or is that ok?

dingdong, is it a similar style? Does it make you feel elegant and slim and non wobbly?

Thats a fab dress too!

Now I need to alter my frame of mind from frumpy and wobbly to confident and glamourous.

I'd need something to wear on top to arrive in..............what does one wear with a big long dress?

OMG I want that purple Debenhams dress AND the red Coast one.

But I have nowhere to go to wear them for quite some time.

OTOH great eveningwear lasts forever doesn't it, so I could buy now and wear when everyone else isn't wearing it!

Nigella has a lovely figure. Nothing wrong with a bit of hip. I know men who dream about her and Kirstie Allsop.

Tried on last years ball outfit. It fits beautifully and hasn't been out the hanger cover in a year........should I just wear it again? Is that rubbish? It looks great. But I do love having a new frock.........
