breast feeding tops - need something not so skintight, help!

DS2 is 10 days old and am really struggling for stuff to wear. I have several bf tops but they're all a bit clingy and am not mad for exposing my muffin top right now thank you very much!

I don't mind wearing non bf tops and exposing a bit of norkage so long as have pretty v-neck for easy access - any suggestions?

(sorry for stilted typing, DS asleep in other arm!)

for that "inbetween" period, and she wears it all the time. Has a scoop neck but because it is not fitted, she can easily feed under the top (and it is very soft too and we get MN discount!)

Vest top under a tunic style thing works for me, one up one down. No muffin top or norkage on display

loose/stretchy vest top (i used next's maternity ones - not obv maternity shaped, in fact i still wear them now and ds2 is 13mo)

with anything loose-ish over the top

top layer pulls up, vest pulls down over one boob

I've got lots from H&M. They're in the maternity section, and have suitable for nursing labels on. They're great for feeding and hiding tummies too.

I bought all my tops for the first few post baby months from H&M, not nursing tops just smock type tops which covered my tummy and were easy to lift up to feed in. (The vest thing is ok if the vest are loose enough to pull down.)
All v reasonable too.

I never got on with the vest underneath another top option, I was always too warm. Proper nursing tops mde me much more confident about feeding in public too.

H&M do good looser tops, but I went in a few weeks ago and all their BF tops were vile! (colour/pattern) I have some Jojo tops in hte large size that don't cling (they do scream breastfeeding top though) and my favourites are a mothercare top in brown that is slightly fitted but still quite flattering. Oh, and some Bara Glad tops from Mamacocoon. X large size doesn't cling! Never really mastered the vest-under-tunic thing, and don't like wearing a 'normal' top when out and about, cos of my magnificent stretchmarks, possibly visible from space.

God, I get fed up with wearing bf clothing sometimes! :-)

Sorry for the massive delay in getting back here - I can't believe how much time I don't spend on mumsnet since DS2 was born!

Just noticed your thread and thought I mention this top which feels really nice and is not at all clingy. Plus it has length and comes in "brown too!!"

I got tops from www.bellamama.co.uk, there's loads of choice for "non cling" tops! The Nursing Henleys are gorgeous, cos they're cotton so they don't hug my giant muffin top in the same way stretchy viscose does. I really struggled to find anywhere doing NICE bf tops, and this one's brilliant.

i wear tops like jewels and gems linked to, as i've been bf for the last 4 years and dont want to pay £30 ish for a glorified t shirt. and they all get covered in snot/puke/food anyway

mostly get them in H&M ( normal not bf ones)

I agree with KnitterintheNW, nursing tops are great for bf whilst out and about. Plus I found that any "normal" top that was loose enough to be able to pull up to nurse was usually so roomy that I still looked 9 months pregnant! Decent nursing tops are cut to flatter your figure after giving birth, whilst providing easy access for breastfeeding. I got a mama cocoon one which was great, and under twenty quid, which I thought pretty reasonable for something I wore loads. It washed well and doesn't cling as it's cotton.

I know what you mean about non clingy tops! But as I have two kids I need to keep a eye on a good bargain! I looked at the sites mentioned above and even though they are great I found the delivery charge too high. I got two tops from www.milkbug.co.uk and the delivery was free. Well worth a look

Oh dont feel !! I would love to do the same, but my boobies are so big that I had to find a way to feed discreetly when I am out and about otherwise I would be done for flashing!!!

I bought a lovely one from Ebay from a company called Mama Feelsgood. They don't have a bump in them and they look like "normal tops" 100% cotton.

Quite funky actually for breastfeeding tops, well impressed, my husband didnt even notice it was for nursing until i lifted the top t-shirt.
