I need one; I want one: I'm going to get one. But I am not liking the reports of Boden leakage; and I am not liking at all the Primark one.

That parka looks OK actually but not sure if it is actually waterproof...

apparently (according to the Times) either Aigle or Barbour are the way to go here: does anybody like this: parka and this is cool but has no hood: utility jacket?

ACtually I think that Hawkshead one is OK styling and vv cheap.

We're on different wavelengths here: I need hoods (think school run with pushchair - no hands for brolly)

But I like the smarter trenchy versions for when I'm not pounding to school in the rain but gently ambling to work...

I have a Barbour (only used for dog walking!!) and it is waterproof but has no hood and is quite short. Also being waxed it does smell a bit 'barbourish'!
When it is really wet I think style has to take a back seat to function.

Ah. I would never in a million years though wear an old-style Barbour in green with the cord collar though. That would be a step too far. My DH would have to leave home.

Thats nice Wilf but i think for practicality i need something a little longer.

My DS school is like a bloody swamp in the rain and have baby as well so also need hood. I am v tempted by the barbour one i linked too - sort of stylish and not obviously barbour is it???
