Boden - what sort of shape woman suits their clothes?

The catalogue seems to be all rake thin women with no tits or arse to speak of, so the clothes don't look all that 'shaped'. Can anyone recommend them? I am quite big busted and have a stomach, shall I bother?

From what I have seen of their clothes they do seem to suit tall slim women. I don't think they would do me any favours.

They have short arms and short bodies
But long legs

they suit smiley women who always look as if they are hopping or skipping

if you walk normally you will look ridiculous in them

Live in France with a bicycle and have a baguette in their bag
Or frolic by the seaside, in the waves etc
(they also have large waists)

beware of trousers - they are big on the hips, imo

The tops are not designed for anyone bigger than a C cup. I am 5'6" and slimmish (8/10 dress size) but also hour-glass shaped and on the whole I can't wear their clothes.

I'm short and curvy and 99% of their stuff doesn't fit me.

Gobbledigook · 01/09/2008 18:15

Really?
I'm 5'6, size 8 and DD and I have a few Boden tops and dresses that fit perfectly.

Report
Gobbledigook · 01/09/2008 18:17

And I do not have a boyish figure at all - I have a small waist, DD boobs and I have hips.
Obviously you pick the items that will suit your shape - the dresses I have a pretty fitted at the top and under the bust and then are A-line. I have a jersey dress that clings so it doesn't matter what shape you really.

MAS sounds good to me. I'm tall and thin but have big hips and can never find anywhere to shop. Now if I could just afford it.

not tall! i am tall and they are too short in the body for me.

Report
bossykate · 01/09/2008 18:25

ime in the fit is very inconsistent anyway (except the shortness in the body, that is consistent) so it's no surprise there are differences of opinion.

I don't think there is a uniform shape that thye fit, I do wonder if it depends on where they are made. Bought some linen trousers last year sized 12 and another pair exactly the same style this year, but had to get a 10 - they were made in different countries. I am a size 12 (usually) 5'5 and 32 C bust and most things fit, although sometimes things are too long.

I agree they are short in the body.

Johnnie designs things he wants his wife to wear - I think a sort of 'flattened by Johnnie' shape carries them off best.

Thank you everyone, might try an a-line skirt but other than that I won't bother. Gobbledigook from that picture I think you'd probably look good in anything - but the dress is lurvely.
