Where oh where do you get such things that are
not either:

A) The colour of mud (Next)
B) Have a 10 week waiting list (Boden)
C) Unutterably foul (M&S, Verbaudet)
D) Made entirely of nylon (some grim on-line tights specialist - can't remember the name)

I'm don't think it's a totally unreasonable request. We'd settle for nice plain coloured ones but they seem to be as rare as a sunny day...

HEEEEELLLPPP!

I got some from La Redoute but bizarrely in the summer catalogue so don't know if still available.

Got some lovely stripey tights for dd from monsoon sale. They may have some left? Mind you they were 18-24m ones not sure if they had them for older ones..

BarcodeZebra Fri 22-Aug-08 20:40:23

La Redoute have a nice two pack but one is stripy the other dots (why do they do that?) Mrs Zebra's not keen on dots.

Gap are often nice but - dear God! How much? For tights???

Will try ASDA and Tesco and all their evil brethren. Thanks for the tip, Luby.

Mothercare: sorry should have said we are trying to stem the pink tide. Also, since the we-can't-sell-you-a-car-seat-because-it's-raining debacle, we won't shop there.

We'll check H&M but I've a feeling that Mrs Zebra has been there already.

Monsoon: Slim pickings I'm afraid. They all seem to be grown up nylon ones. Maybe it's me but that just seems weird for a three year old.

How fussy are we?

used2bthin Fri 22-Aug-08 20:43:06

Oh yes I saw the thin nylon ones, seemed weird to me too. No DD's are thick and gorgeous stripes. Also got some spotty ones there. They probably have them in non sale but like GAP they'll be stupid money. Zara?

Legoleia Fri 22-Aug-08 20:43:26

zillions on eBay

(not pink) wink

BarcodeZebra Fri 22-Aug-08 20:55:03

Zara!

Ah! We'd forgotten them. Cheers!

Will try eBay again. Lovely thanks.

last year the best plain ones i found were from tesco, they fit better than the m&S ones, also if you have a sainsburys near you that does kids clothes theirs are quite good, or h&M.

Pumpkin Patch usually do some. They are available on-line too, I think.

John Lewis also do nice tights.

ChippyMinton Fri 22-Aug-08 21:14:33

Primark, Monsoon, Tesco.
and these which I got free for doing some website testing for a mumsnetter, and I have to say they are top quality and outlasted every other pair DD has has.

sorry, search for country kids brand tights on that link.

gemmiegoatlegs Fri 22-Aug-08 21:17:53

I got some great ones for DD is Asda last year.

Three pack with navy/turquoise; pink and pink;and mixture of both. Lots of cotton and under a fiver for sure.

I am a bit picky too as DD prone to eczema and thus can't have any with glitter in (M&S always seem to include it).
