Apparently we're all going to be wearing tunics (again) this autumn/winter

which is good for me because I have a fat everything bum. I have found this one which I like very much from ASOS as it is a bit structured, but most seem to be a bit too casual and kaftan-y.

Has anyone seen longish tunics that are more tailored and structured and a bit more workwear than 'chuck on over yer jeans or cossie-wear'?

maidamess Thu 21-Aug-08 10:30:25

Why not try a mini shift dress? I havent seen any in the shops, just an idea. A bit more tailored than your average sack smock

Cappuccino Thu 21-Aug-08 10:30:59

ooh patterned ones please

really crayzee

(sorry wilf, that one's boring smile)

RubySlippers Thu 21-Aug-08 10:31:52

thank the lord

i love tunics

they hide a multitude of sins

WilfSell Thu 21-Aug-08 10:33:20

I like a bit of patternage (in fact am prevaricating over a brown and orange patterned one I saw in <cough> Tesco... but I figured everyone else will hate it because it is so LOUD so I'll have time to think before they all sell out)

But I like a bit more plain, tailored stuff for work.

Oh no, not tunics again. Will the pregnant look never go out of fashion? I'm done with that.

maidamess Thu 21-Aug-08 10:34:07

Now, do you wear
Cropped leggings

Ankle length leggings, and if so, what denier of legging?

God we talk some shit dont we?

WilfSell Thu 21-Aug-08 10:35:16

Well according to whichever magazine I saw this shite in, this season it is not leggings, but trousers (yay!)

maidamess Thu 21-Aug-08 10:35:41

Oh, really? Quelle type?

RubySlippers Thu 21-Aug-08 10:37:21

good colour but not sure about the style

nice but ruffles?

WilfSell Thu 21-Aug-08 10:40:05

Can't find the mag but it seems ankle length and pegged <double vomit> are all the rage.

RubySlippers Thu 21-Aug-08 10:40:48

john rocha at debenhams has a few

Swedes Thu 21-Aug-08 11:00:30

I have just ordered one of these

Katisha Thu 21-Aug-08 11:26:07

I need non-empire line, three-quarter sleeves and wide over the hips. And not violently patterned. Still looking.

whatevermaycome Thu 21-Aug-08 12:00:35

Anything here ?[ white stuff]

whatevermaycome Thu 21-Aug-08 12:01:07

white stuff

Katisha Thu 21-Aug-08 12:50:47

Ooh blimey - yes loads!

CatIsSleepy Thu 21-Aug-08 12:53:20

tunics eh? does that mean i won't have to buy any maternity tops?
fab grin

CatIsSleepy Thu 21-Aug-08 12:54:45

I like the one in the OP actually

brimfull Thu 21-Aug-08 12:58:21

those white stuff ones all have empire line though.

I look shite in anything with empire line or loose and flowing..I need body skimming but not clinging.

CatIsSleepy Thu 21-Aug-08 13:10:54

very cute from esprit

whatevermaycome Thu 21-Aug-08 16:40:10

Have tried on a couple of the white stuff ones and they are quite fitted - some are stretchy so very fitted - HTH

expatinscotland Thu 21-Aug-08 16:41:49

because i'm wearing sweatsuits, wool jumpers, lined trousers, fleece trousers, whatever will keep me warm in this place.

Mercy Thu 21-Aug-08 16:47:23

lol expat, I was going to say I'll be sticking to my usual a/w outfit of jeans and jumpers etc!

It might be different if I was out at work though.

BrownSuga Thu 21-Aug-08 17:04:15

It's got to be better than the current trend here in Montreal to wear JUST the leggings, with normal length tops (ie not long to cover offending bits). I don't care if you're 18 and a size 6, it's not a good look.
