what should I wear?

Occasion: hen's night
Location: bar crawl around north London
Other people: don't know 'em very well, all good friends of the bride to be, old school friends etc but they are basically all well-to-do North London Jewish girls, from what I can gather. Certainly not as grotty as the term 'bar crawl' would suggest....

any suggestions?

Nice jeans, sparkley top, high heeled sandals, lots of make-up.

not keen on sparkly tops or makeup .... any other ideas? thank you though, cats

no make-up on a N London night out?

are you crazy?

of course you wear make-up

cornsilk Thu 07-Aug-08 19:42:57

Is N London posh then?

theexmrsfederer Thu 07-Aug-08 19:48:04

Not specially, depends where you go.

But I just can't imagine not wearing any make-up on a night out.

cornsilk Thu 07-Aug-08 19:49:10

Me neither. Wouldn't dream of it.

SG, I thought you'd just bought a pile of dresses? If so, one of them??

theexmrsfederer Thu 07-Aug-08 19:57:10

a dress would do it

jeans, fuck-off shoes, nice top

not a problemo

good lord. You put your kids to bed and come back to this!!

Okay - sorry about the makeup thing (feel like I have had my wrists slapped) but I just don't wear it. Not even on my wedding day. Smidge of eyeliner is about as far as I go.

My legs can do shorts; I, however, can not.

Yes, I did just buy a pile of dresses but feel that they are all a bit too dressy/ glam for this.

Soooo ... based on your (much appreciated and very worthy) suggestions, what do you think of skinny jeans with this top and these shoes

will that do?

they are great star

but at the risk of sounding like I am nagging, they need some make-up too

Stargazing Thu 07-Aug-08 20:23:41

Cod, your lousy typing is too much for even me to translate, so I will just assume that you are being horrible and ignore you.

federer's ex - they need some makeup or i do???wink

okay, okay. But no stuff on my skin. Eyes and lips only, will that do?

me = 2 under 2, full time freelance career = busy

netaporter = lovely stuff all under the one virtual roof, never-ending sale, easy to shop/ find sizes etc, no trips into town, try on at home, free returns = why shop anywhere else?

obsessed,no, anything for an easy and Boden-free life, yes.

theexmrsfederer Thu 07-Aug-08 20:29:20

yeh star, that will do

that is all I do too

harpomarx Thu 07-Aug-08 20:29:56

nice top and shoes, sg but do you really need to spend that much to get a 'nice top' and wedges???

that top doesn't look £200 special to me and I need convincing about wedges with skinny jeans. Go on, someone convince me it works.

stop bullying the poor girl about make up too people. She obviously has fabulous skin as well as legs and doesn't need it. It is summer too, do you all still put loads of slap on in the summer?

Communion Thu 07-Aug-08 20:30:13

Top and shoes are very nice, but I would have recommened something from New look so I'm probably not the kind of person you were seeking advice from.

Are you also the kind of person who doesn't need makeup to look gorgeous and glam?

hmm...jimy choo shoea and no make up needed, I don't think we'd get on. We'd never get past my jealousy.

theexmrsfederer Thu 07-Aug-08 20:30:13

I mean eyes and lips only

I have perfect skin wink
