Mine is the same. I am not fat (well, I don't think I am!), but my belly kind of sags down since I had the section with my fourth child two years ago. I was really shocked because my tummy did lose tautness after each pregnancy, but the sagginess is new!

Try those pants from M&S that suck everything in...they work great!!!!

Yep, add me to 'Tummy Overhang Anonymous'. I call it my apron (yuck). I'm a good size 18 with it, so it's added an entire size

I am very skinny below size 6 but i still have this extra bit of flab on bottom of stomach that wont go. Its still numb too 2 years on. It is my fourth c section though

I hate it, especially the bit where the surgeon stiched me too tight and it's really pronounced.

urgh I hate my overhang too. Happily its all filled out at 29 weeks PG but I know it will be back to haunt me in October

It was a real shock that even when I went pretty much back to my pre-pregnancy size I had this big flap there- i call it my apron too! Have asked DH for a tummy tuck for my 30th

Hugs!
I'm in the same boat - 4 years on I still have a roll of flesh that is paying the mortgage...
it seems here to stay.

I've done quite a bit of work on the muscles behind it - when I could start to feel them.. and that has lifted the flab, so it no longer hangs when I'm upright. I had a diastisis - a separation of the abdominal muscles and nothing i did could help my tummy until I started to do some more specific exercises.

If I even think of cake I get an overhang again, and I'm beginning to suspect that I will have to be one of those self denying skinny minnies if I ever want a flat tum. Bye bye chocolate forever..

I used a fab book called lose your mummy tummy and it worked to tone up the muscles, and now being careful of my calorific intake helps keep the roll of flab up a bit!

I've heard that it's just how the surgeon stitches you back up - and of course how they cut you also - I had a crash cesarean and have a 12 inch scar from hip to hip. They didn't cauterise when cutting and just hacked in to get DD out. Friends of mine who had an elective seem to have fared better?

Anyway here's the link to that great advice I used to get my tum strong and relatively non flabby!! Maternal Fitness

i had x 3 consecutive c.sections (12 months between each one).Don't think i'll be losing the "apron" somehow.

I only had one C-section. It was 20 years ago, and I'm a size 8. But I still have my little cliff-hanger of a scar. I hate it. But I've seen people in worse shape after babies, so don't be too hard on yourselves. Just tuck it into your knickers

surely this is common with pregnancies and not just after a section .

I have had 2 lo's and I have "over hang", yeah I have a little weight to loose but this was the same after dd and I was smaller in size..imo its stretched skin.
