what about accessorize? they used to sell hair bands with big corsage type flowers on, you could take the band off and pin/stitch to the bag (have i been watching too much gok?)

I think the corsage sounds like a good idea - especially if the dress isn't fussy. Turquoise and black sounds lovely

My mum made a fascinator and matching handbag corsage for a wedding and it looked really good (and she's not especially "crafty"). You can probably buy the flowers and a few feathers or something from a haberdashery and just fabric glue them together
