Does anyone have the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick?

If so, can you tell me whether it says Bobbi Brown Essentials on the casing of the stick? Just bought one from Ebay (100% feedback seller) and am getting paranoid that it is fake!

Thanks kama, I have noticed though on another seller on ebay that their foundation doesn't have Essentials printed on it and was wondering why!?

Thanks IllegallyBrunette - that would be great.

I have emailed the seller and asked her very nicely if she knows why some have Essentials on and some don't.

I have one in Alabaster 00, purchased from the Bobbi Brown counter at Peter Jones (so probably authentic!)

The casing is black, and when you take the lid off to use it, to top is gold (the bit the actual makeup comes out of). Bobbi Brown on the black side, printed in white (coming off a bit on mine now!). The sticker on the base says (in white lettering on black background) the weight, etc, then Foundation Stick, Fond de teint batiment. Alabaster )). There is very small writing around the outside edge of the sticker, a bit small for my poor old eyes, think it is name and address of Bobbi Brown cosmetics.

Hope that helps! Felt this way myself about a Juvena moisturiser I bought from Strawberry (can't get it here). Never felt confident it was the 'real McCoy'.

StrawberryNet has both types - Essentials and non-essentials. Don't know what that means though...

The lady I bought it from has emailed me back with the following:

Hi there. Thanks for your question, I will answer as best I can. In 1995 Bobbi launched a new range of lipsticks under the brand name "Bobbi Brown essentials" This was in New York. Later, more of her make up items including foundation and mascara carried the essentials name. Although I don't know exactly why, it seems that some Bobbi Brown cosmetics packaged and despatched from america, (as mine are) carry the Essentials label and those bought in Uk don't. If you search for Bobbi Brown foundation on strawberrynet.com you will see that carries essentials name. Some time back Estee Lauder bought Bobbi Brown and Clinique so possibly different branding and packaging agreemets in uk and USA may have something to do with that. Hope thats kind of covered your question. Best wishes

Seems a reasonable enough answer?

Sounds reasonable to me

I did eventually manage to speak to my brothers gf.

She said they did do a range that would of had essentials on the bottom so that bit sounds ok.
She said the only thing to watch for with buying them off ebay is how old they are.

Apparently if it smells waxy then it has gone off.

I didn't even know they could go off tbh.

Thank you Brunette! Yes makeup has a shelf life, I think it is around 2 years for foundation, not sure though.
