LASIK laser eye surgery

Umm not sure if this is the right place but I am sure you'll put me right if its not.

Yesterday I went for a consultation for Lasik and apparantly I am a -1 in one eye and a -5 in the other. Sooo they want to just do the really bad eye and reckon that will be enough so I can drive. Can anybody tell me more? I did ask and they jsut assured me all would be fine. They are very reputable and I know people who have been ther and are very happy so I dont think they are tryin to swizz me but I'm just not confident that I will be able to see without glasses.

Any ideas or anyone been there before?
