Hello everyone, old and new.

This is about feeling better about yourself and looking and feeling better etc. But mainly we chat and laugh quite a lot, which has all got to help towards happiness etc.

The rules (anyone can join):

  • Sunscreen at all times - REALLY mean this now summer is here.

  • No or little booze. Wine or Champagne or whatever at the weekend is allowed if you want it

  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can

  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day

  • Apply body cream as often as possible

  • Use hand cream

  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos

  • Eat healthily

  • Be happy

The idea is that we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Some people are doing India and Neris's Idiot Proof Diet (Atkins, more or less), others are doing Slimy World, others are just being as healthy as possible.

Welcome everyone, have a good week.
Apologies for belated new thread.

W/e not too bad but did not get to gym. Too much alcohol and DH has been at the barbeque so not especially good foodwise. It's his new toy so is experimenting and I have to say that the veg has been superb and tonight's meat was not so charred. Am looking forward to fish but not until he is over the cremating stage.

Had a pleasant day shopping for DD's holiday clothes. Managed to get loads in Gap's sale so was quite pleased. Felt like a frumpy middle-aged mother as she rummaged through all the trendy stuff though. Am going to go one day this week to get things for myself so need to get myself mentally prepared for that little jaunt.

Bought Flexitol nail and cuticle stuff today as it was on offer in Superdrug. Will let you know if it has the same transformative effect as the heel stuff.

Dh cooking and dd snuggled up in bed.

Had awful day. Realise how lucky we are and how lightly we got away with the burglary but still feel like . Just do.

Still, got up for walk with puppy early this morning, worked hard all day, had hilarious stories with dd (telling her about when she was a toddler) and about to have meal and film (the Branagh As you like it) with dh.

Am not ungrateful cow, honest. Just feel as if I'd swallowed a great big stone and it's stuck under my breast bone. We're all fine and I'll shape up soon. Meanwhile drinking wine although it's Monday.

Somebody give me a slap!

You've had a big shock eemie, I felt horrible for a while when it happened to me.

Swam today. Am liking the 25 degrees we had this afternoon.

Went to school uniform shop as dd has to wear a blazer next year. Can only get stuff from the shop on school premises and its only open for a couple of weeks during school hols.

Because she's a beanpole had to get too big across chest to fit length.

hello it's foxinsocks here. Think I was playing around with names and now can't be arsed to go through the whole rigmarole of changing names arrghh because I'm trying to post quickly...

eemie - you so don't need a slap. Cammelia is right. It's an awful shock being burgled. Feel so personal for some reason. Be kind to yourself!

www - glad you had a lovely weekend.

am about to jump into shower. Have mad day tomorrow with lots of meetings and have pulled out of a work dinner tomorrow night (have had to compromise on a drink grr) because my stomach STILL doesn't feel right (I looked at the place we were supposed to go and it was all seafood and game and was making me feel v queasy just reading the menu). Sigh. I need another script for omeprazole but the doctor has told me she won't prescribe me another month of it without an endoscopy grrr so annoyance all round (and I'm about to run out of the pill too arrghh why can't you just call doctors up for this sort of thing? of course, it will take me a week to get an appointment yadda yadda...)

enough whining!

have got a wii for the kids and suddenly I'm the best parent ever - they can't wait to finish school. They seem v tired. Dd has her sport days on Thursday (can't go but dd said she didn't care as she hates sport and would rather muck about!) and ds on Monday (dh going) then finally, we have finished all the school stuff. I worked out I would have needed 7 days leave to go to every event they were involved in!

4 weeks to my leave and counting every gawd damn picking second till that day

Oh Eemie. Hope you had a lovely supper with DH and enjoyed the film. Can totally understand that you must be feeling low - you have been burgled and are fully entitled to feel a whole range of emotions from crap to glad that noone was hurt.
Hope that it gets easier through the week. Sending you huggie things that lots of people hate but sometimes they are wholly appropriate.

eemie, so sorry you had a burglary - it's horrible isn't it - we were burgled (very lightly) about 4/5 years ago and it was a very weird feeling. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Hello all,

Eemie - so sorry to hear about your burglary, it's a horrible thing to go through (I went through it a couple of times as a student) so don't feel bad about feeling bad iyswim.

WWW - your weekend away sounded fabulous. Hope work and the real world isn't too much of a let down.

Oi/foxinsocks - sorry to hear you're still not well. How soon can they sort out an endoscopy?

Cerys - sorry to hear about your MIL but so glad you're dh doesn't need further treatment.

Well, bootcamp has been better for me except I've been flexitoling twice a day for a week and my, what a difference! Will be keen to hear what the nail cream is like although I really hope it doesn't also smell of piss

Mind you, I now have a new bootcamp aim - bootcamp baby #4 is due in March 09

Really early days and I have had a m/c before so not counting chickens yet however we can't tell anyone in RL and I have to tell somebody.

Off now to try and remember all the stuff I'm supposed to about this kind of thing..

Eemie, sorry you?re feeling rubbish. I think being burgled is scary and such an invasion of privacy.

iBundle, enjoy book club, what are you ?-drinking-- reading? (and are you ibundle because you have an iphone, if so )

Bama, congratulations, how fantastic! When is it due?

FIS, sorry to hear about your stomach and 4 weeks til your holiday, aagh, I hope it passes quickly. If it?s any consolation there are loads of school things I don?t make.

Our dirty weekend became a distant memory once we got home yesterday as the evening was spent in a blur of making packed lunches, emptyng book bags, filling in school forms, filing bills, unloading the dishwasher, reloading the dishwasher, putting washing on, hanging it out, getting clothes ready for the morning, ironing, cajoling children to get into baths, reading stories, aaaaaaaaagggggggghhhhhhh!

The Champagne filled world of 5* room service and Ramsey restaurants receded pretty damn fast, I can tell you! And dh and I, who had been snogging on the train on the way back and talking about (Sorry, TMI alert) how much we were looking forward to going to bed later, collapsed into bed at 10.15 and agreed that we were too knackered to contemplate anything other than sleeping. So there you go, if we didn?t have children and jobs and tedium and chores we?d have lots more sex. Not exactly revelation of the century is it? But it was very starkly illustrated for us last night!

Never mind, I really mustn?t complain (and will stop doing so forthwith) as it was such a lovely, lovely weekend, truly fab. Ex MIL says she?ll come again in October so we ought to start saving for it I think. Twas expensive but worth every penny.

Today
3 sausages
spinach salad with tuna, anchovies, tomatoes, cucumber, quails eggs
water
sunscreen
no idea what we?re having tonight but an early night will certainly be happening!

Hope everyone?s having a good week.

WWW - snogging on the train - the weekend obviously really did do you a lot of good. And I really have to ask again - did the porno pants and bra come into, ahem, play?

Mavis/Bama - congratulations! Fingers crossed for you this time.

Eemie - don't feel bad/guilty about not getting over the burglary - it's a horrible experience, whatever the circumstances. Hopefully peace of mind will come in time for you but you will no doubt feel sad/angry etc for quite a while, as anyone would.

And what's with all the name changes - I cannot keep up!

I am getting very cross with myself for not cracking this week piety/weekend spoil-it-all. It's sapping my energy as is the hot weather, so will need to come up with a Plan - does anyone have the answer?

But, as usual, have been ok this week (although it's only Tuesday obviously). Body has been brushed, feet buffed up, skin moisturised, copious fruit consumed, no wine yet (day 3 today). Oven on for a good old roast chicken and jacket pot. Less than 2 weeks until my birthday and I'm feeling really really old atm - having freaky hair atm doesn't help but have booked a haircut and roots touch-up for next week. It's all downhill really but shall continue to fight the good fight in the spirit of the thread.

Have a good week all.

The scoutcamp has been cancelled for the older two rebels. We have no very little childcare available for three, so were taking advantage of a camp, with DS3 going to my brother/SIL for the weekend. SIL would no doubt have all three (if only for one night) but I'd rather not ask at such short notice. I'll ask her to have him later in the year when there's another camp.

Inching back to normality here, thanks to everyone for kindness. Took chocolate to work yesterday, which helped. Dh being extra thoughtful and I've found there's nothing like sex for restoring a sense of proportion .

Discovered I've lost a big piece of work I did on my laptop last week. Had e-mailed the files to work as back-up but in haste I accidentally sent an earlier version of one of them . Have you backed up all your files lately? I'd backed up all our photos, thank goodness, except those still in the camera.

So today I'll repeat all that painstaking work. Luckily it was difficult enough to be almost etched in my memory, so won't take so long.

Hilarious dog training class last night; felt v. proud of Her Puppyship, who was a star.

Welcomed by friendly dog-walkers on the common each morning now - word has got around about the new puppy on the block and everyone stops to talk to us.

Back to bootcamp -
sunscreen y
water y
eat healthily - back on track today
lotion y
walk y
be happy y

FIS hope you feel better too

I am still too knackered for that malarkey, gosh it was a shock going back to work yesterday...

Today
bacon and eggs
salami and cheese
prawns, aioli, raw spinach salad
used sunscreen
trying to drink enough water
we're having salmon tonight

Where is everyone?

DS was rather poorly last night so spent the night with me and I am feeling a tad tired as a result. He seems to be getting better as the day goes on so will hopefully sleep tonight. I have never known any of my children to feel so hot - as I approached him I could feel the heat from his little body.

Went to gym to try and find some energy as I would have gone back to bed otherwise. DH had lots of snuggles with DS on the sofa.

Flexitol for nails is not having the dramatic results that the foot stuff has but they do look a bit better. I am going to persevere as I am trying to be a role model for DD1 who has the most disgusting bitten nails. She is on a mission so is applying foul tasting stuff several times a day. She is not getting credit on her phone until they have grown either.

Food is variable at the moment. Not stuffing my face but am eating well and enjoying very nice wine. Drinking lots of water and eating loads of fruit and veg.
