I am getting married in this www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_64885_393422_-1

What kind of shoes do you think I should wear? I don't want anything too bridal. I am 5'4, size 12/14 with quite good ankles.

I like the idea of platforms but don't know if they'll go (be nice, I'm not trendy!)

I was only talking about my wedding shoes to hubby this morning. (Did I mention it is our wedding anniversary? )

My advice would be -

Dont stress too much about the shoes. The ones I wanted were £49 but the embroidery was too dark to match my dress. The shoes I ended up getting were £12 from C&A and no one saw them anyway! It was surprisingly hard to find any wedding shoes and this was in Bluewater.

I'm not stressed about them, but my shoes will be seen as dress is just below knee. And they will be cheap anyway! Just not sure about style.

Happy wedding anniversary!

I would go for some uber sparkly very high maybe brushed gold shoes/sandals, that way you can wear them again - not bright gold IYKWIM but soft gold or maybe brushed silver.

With that frock -lovely, by teh way-you need fabulous shoes. I had a calf-length wedding dress, and was so glad I made the effort with my shoes, as so many people commented on them, and even took pictures

Personally, I think that platforms would be too heavy with this dress, you need a peep toe, or a sandal-not too strappy though.

How high a heel can you handle? Any of these do you?

pretty

bargain!

goldy

patent?

suede

how about pink?!

beautiful!

Friend just got married in those Next KK ones, which were lovely. She said they were extremely comfy too.

Thanks for your ideas! Some really nice ones here.

Was thinking of avoiding strappies as wedding is in winter and the dress is already summery, but maybe it doesn't matter. It's all indoors so it's not like there will be snow crunching underfoot.

having said that, I really like the patent? one actually.

Oh, okay, then for winter I would get some satin courts with a closed toe and a bow detail-wait for the autumn styles to come in.

This kind of thing though:

Or maybe these, still!

I just love 'em!

I like the LK Bennett ones, although they cost as much as my dress did! I saw the Kurt Geiger ones in the shop today and although they look lovely sideways on, the big jewel is a bit massive from the front.

Thanks for your great suggestions
