Would black woolly tights and black lace up boots go with this dress?
I wouldn't normally wear such dark tights with a light coloured fabric but that but my fashion rules from too long ago....

From a 100% aesthetic view I favour the look of sheer tights (black or brown) with black boots in cold weather, I think it looks more interesting and keeps the legs/feet from just being a dark block. I also love some of the Calzedonia sheer patterned tights with plain skirts/dresses.

However

In reality, by December/January and it really is very cold then my aesthetic preferences go out of the window for everyday casual and I do think fleece lined or wooly tights would be ok, especially, with a winter coat over the top. If I knew I was going to be mostly indoors I would stick with sheer black as I won't be as affected by the weather and don't want to over heat, and would be more likely to make a 'fashion-conscious' choice.

Totally agree with pp, sheer tights I think look a bit more modern but in the cold dark months of January and February who bloody cares, it's about warmth! Grin

@lindyloo57 it arrived today and is going back! I sized down as per the reviews and the size 12 is 28 inches wide pocket to pocket and it doesn't suit me. A shame as lovely fabric and print

@Isabelle70 hi, 28 inches, is that the hips, so it doesn't come up large, I usually wear a 10 or 12 depending on make, like today shopping with my DD I brought a fitted shirt in Newlook in a size 12.

@lindyloo57 I have packed it back up but yes I would say at the hips, the 28 was it laid out flat. I am a 14 and the size 12 fitted on the bust but was just too voluminous in the waist and skirt area for me.
They have the fabric in a skirt too but that's out of stock 😞
