Facial hair becoming harder to hide. Plea for help. Pic included!

I've always had difficult facial hair but managed it over the years... however I caught sight in a photo of how bad it's become and vowed to change what I'm doing and fix it

I've always lived with the creeping in hair around the edges- don't know if that's a big problem (although the kids make fun of it at school/work). But the stubble is showing badly on my upper lip and chin and that's what I'm most self-conscious about. Plucking doesn't last any time and the ones I pluck most are the thickest. Shaving leaves them growing stubble by afternoon. Is the answer IPL? Many thanks for any advice!

OP I would go for regular waxing for your lip and chin. I do my upper lip and I feel so much better for it.
For the rest of your face have you ever tried dermaplaning? You can get the tools to do it yourself on Amazon or you can get it done at a salon if you’re unsure.

Dermaplaning! I have loads of fluffy cheek side hair and chin hair and it was a game changer. I think you can buy the things to do it yourself but when I've got it done I've went to a beautician, where I am it's around £40 a time though.

Oh OP it’s really not that bad after you showing the stubble pic, it might be worth having your hormones level checked? Or is it’s stubble after shaving the hair?

I used to do Immac as a teenager but would have to leave it on way longer than advised for it to work, which left my skin red and puffy. Jolen I think works better on less coarse and obvious hair but thank you for the suggestions.

I assume that's just normal.

The one on your chin I can only see about 4 small hairs- I assume you pluck. And maybe some under your chin, but havent got a good view of those.

But the ones at the side of the face are normal???

With waxing I'm concerned that I have to have the stubble before it works.

Has anyone used IPL for this kind of hair?

Re. hormones- yes, they may be getting worse- I'm about to turn 41 and can feel things like this worsening. Also have PCOS which is linked to that.

Exactly what I was thinking!
If you can afford it Op, I'd get a laser for home. I have a Phillips Lumea & it's been great. It really does work and saves you money in the long run. I'd tried all sorts and was so down and self conscious about it. It was completely out of hand and now I've got it under control. Works best on fair skin and dark hair so it'll work it's magic for you. No mess, no effort, so quick and no costs after initial purchase.

I use a French cream bleach called blondepil - it is stronger than jolene. But still quite gentle on skin. It works very quickly on fine hair but o leave it on a bit longer with coarse hairs.
That and a pair of sharp scissors is all I use and I am dark haired and pale skinned a bit like you.

If it was me I'd bleech the soft hair on the sides and wax the chin and upper lip, using bleech I'm between waxes to hide it as it grows long enough.
I personally use a Veet mini battery operated trimmer, and to be honest I'm no more stubly then when I wax or pluck. I have quite a few chin hairs that I'm constantly plucking.

I think I'd have laser treatment OP, but you should really go and have a consultation at a good clinic. Don't just go to a beauty salon, go to a proper place with people who are medically qualified and use high quality equipment.

Beware of waxing! I’ve had my upper lip waxed for years and the skin has now changed colour, it’s darkened. So I puck now - I don’t have any hair, but I have a skin moustache which is harder to get rid of…I’d try bleaching or laser if you could afford it.

Mine isn't too bad, but I use a dermaplaning tool with the grain of the hair (never against) and it gets rid and doesn't have visible stubble when it grows back. Have you been tested for hormone imbalances? When I went on the pill, my body hair reduced a lot!

Oh really? I’ve been getting mine waxed for about 3 years. May have to have a look at alternatives
