Smart but practical backpack recommendations

Hi all
I am looking for a smart & trendy backpack that's practical too. Need it for travelling and day outs with DS, so should have good space for various bit and bobs but not too bulky and should also be comfortable to wear for long periods...a laptop pocket will be an added bonus but not mandatory. Can anyone give some recommendations please?

Thank you!

This one got me through lockdown:

miatui.com/collections/backpacks/products/sydney-backpack-multiple-colours

Not leather, affordable, reasonably large but they do smaller ones too that might be considered a bit smarter. But I've been very happy with mine and it still looks really nice after being lugged about daily for two years.

I love my Roka backpack, but I'm not sure they would ever be described as smart. It's neat and simple, but has loads of useful pockets.

My favourites are made by knomo and dakine , both have a padded laptop section.

Dakine backpacks are less smart but make up for it with features like a sunglasses pocket and two side pockets for bottles.

I forgot to mention , I really rate the dakine garden backpack. My knomo is a beauchamp.

Knomo all the way. Not cheap but not crazy expensive. Have two and love them.

I have the same one for work and I really rate it. It’s quite square though and I would say smarter so maybe not ideal if you want something casual.

Thanks everyone...
Had a quick look at knomo, Roka, dakine and the miatui ones. All of them look good...need to do some further checks & comparisons.
Doesn't really have to be smart..I guess more trendy than smart Smile

I have a Roka which is really useful pocket and size wise. I can get laptop and charger in with everything else and it never looks overstuffed or like I'm off on a self-supported hike through the Mongolian Steppe. No exterior bottle pocket though. It's the most comfortable to wear that I've ever owned.

I also have a Millican Smith 18l (no side pockets) which I don't get on with - not enough pockets of any kind! I love all of my other (cross body) Millican bags though. They're well made and a responsible brand. Worth a look as they have lots of options for backpacks. A bit more outdoorsy looking though.

I have two, both of which I really rate - the Knomo Berlin and this one from M&S (less than half the price of the Knomo, though still think the Knomo is worth it!).

Both have loads of internal room, are waterproof and have well-protected laptop pockets.

The Knomo Beauchamp for me

knomo.com/products/beauchamp-laptop-backpack-black-119-419-bsn

Smart and stylish and, more importantly for me, comfortable to carry. I tried out several different makes when I was in John Lewis, and was amazed how many of them had straps that cut in. This was the most comfortable by far.

Love the colour options in Roka…not able to picture how they look on the back though..If anyone is happy to share pictures it’ll be awesome
Miatui Sydney one looks good as well…I might end up buying more than 1 now😬
