What to wear to my son's christening?

It's in 3 weeks time so need to get on the case! Was thinking a jumpsuit, or maybe a maxi dress. However I can't seem to find something that's not either too casual or too 'bridesmaidy'.

I'm 5ft8, big boobs, usually a 10/12. Budget up to £150. Church ceremony followed by party in our garden, so must be able to work with wedges or block heels! No idea of weather yet but am assuming it'll be fairly warm. I don't really suit pastels. Help please stylish Mumsnetters!!

Last time I went to a christening, it was a job lot, people wore anything from jeans to Sunday best. I wore a favourite dress and heels and I was one of the more dressy people.I'd suggest looking in the sales at John Lewis, House of Fraser and Monsoon

Something pretty and smart - and comfortable. A cotton, floral maxi dress with a big hat would be lovely.

@FlorenceandtheWashingMachine that dress is beautiful and would be perfect for the occasion.

Thanks @violinist64 😊

I also love this and think it could look fantastic on the poster, but perhaps too pastel?www.monsoon.co.uk/daisy-embroidered-hanky-hem-dress-blue-14879702.html

Just realised that the Mondoon dress is polyester, so probably not good for a warm summer's day :-(

These Mint Velvet maxi dresses are viscose (perfect if hot), and I think they would look great with your figure. You'd be able to wear them forever for going out to dinner on holiday too www.mintvelvet.co.uk/product/red-tiered-boho-maxi-dress/36058

Some great suggestions ladies, thank you! I live the green Hobbs dress but find that high necklines don't do a lot for me due to the big bust issue - I kind of end up with a rather unattractive shelf 😝

Loving the floral blue jumpsuit and also the red one though - might order them both to try on.

I would advise not wearing bright red at a christening unless you are prepared for some sniggering when the god parents have to reject Satan and all his works!
