Help with acne from mask wearing

My skin is very prone to acne anyway but never usually across my cheeks.
I wash my face before and after wearing the mask but have loads of blackheads and under the skin spots on my cheeks and big boil type spots along my jawline.
Help very very much appreciated

I already have a cream from the GP, that’s keeps the normal acne at bay, this acne on my cheeks and jawline is like a whole different breed

Do you use silk facemasks ? I found that helped. When I wear a normal cotton or disposable one, I get spots again.

I have to wear the blue masks for my job, I don’t think I could bare to wear a silk one underneath with how warm it is

I’ve almost recovered from a massive breakout - what helped me was benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. In the morning, I use a serum and then a sunscreen but I didn’t put the serum on my jaw/chin area. Then covered that bit with acnecide gel and once dry, sunscreen everywhere.

In the pm, I again avoid putting anything on my chin except for effaclar duo and a very, very light moisturiser (to try and keep flakiness at bay).

It’s taken a couple of weeks but the spots have now stopped forming and I’m having to deal with pie instead.

I spray my masks with clinisept too.

There’s an article on maskne in the BMJ this week. Mask wearing can exacerbate or trigger a few different spotty skin conditions but if it’s acne vulgaris (what we’d usually just refer to as acne) they recommend a long course of oral antibiotics.

I had this and switched to the blue surgical masks which are much more breathable and I've had no problems since.

I’m using a topical treatment Clindamycin. It’s been great

My dd. Is having this issue. She was wearing the cotton masks to school and she had a terrible flare up. She's changed back to the disposable masks now and she is using Elizabeth Arden hydrating mist a few times in the day. It does seem to be helping. Her skin seemed to dry out in the mask area.
