Another is this too white for a wedding...

Hi lovely ladies.

So, I posted yesterday about my request for a a dress to wear to a wedding. I am starting a new thread as I wanted some opinions on particular dresses.
I've decided I really like reformation but never ordered from there, so no idea on size.

Also, not much is in stock in my size so I'm limited. Also, being 5ft2 things can often look too long.

What do you think of these options? Wedding appropriate? Are the white floral ones too white?

Thank you so much.

I really like no 3 in the above but not so keen on the pattern. However it's the only one in my size!

If I was a bride or another wedding guest I wouldn't bat an eye at any of those.

2 is my favourite, then 3.

The Chiara dress is potentially too white but as it's not remotely wedding dress like, I think you'd be ok. The other two are more than acceptable (and nicer dresses IMO).

I think if they’re mostly white they’re too white for a wedding especially if the other colours are pastel. I’d go for number 3 in your first post, not 2 and DEFINITELY not 1

The third one would be fine. It’s very pretty. I wouldn’t wear the other two because of their white backgrounds and because it’s incredibly easy to find dresses that don’t have a white background.

No 2 or 3 are nice. Not keen on no 1 at all I’m afraid.

I’d probably avoid one and two; three is fine.

I’m not sure about the one in your second photo. It’s an expensive wedding guest dress! I think it’s depend how “bridesmaidy” it looked in person.

You never really know what a bride will think of wear themselves, let some bridesmaids, so I tend to take the easy route with weddings and avoid anything too white or bridesmaidy to reduce stress.

Any of them would be fine. 3 is lovely.

Why do all your options have white backgrounds? Just pick another colour!

They are all absolutely fine for a wedding.
A dress is only to white for a wedding if it's just plain white/ivory/cream all over.

No1 the Chiara dress is gorgeous

Nikita would be the one I'd go for. Beautiful and completely appropriate.

Too white not to

A dress is only to white for a wedding if it's just plain white/ivory/cream all over.

I don't agree, white shouldn't be the main colour.

1 and 2 are not suitable for a wedding IMO. And it's so easy to find something that doesn't have a white background.

These threads always baffle me. If you're concerned that the dress is too white, just pick something else!

I wouldn't go for the first two. I think in reality they may be actually very noticably white. The third one is okay because there is so much print. But there are plenty of dresses out there without a white background. If I were you, I would start looking at them.

Will have to agree to disagree then as wouldn't bother me one bit what you wore at my wedding & it didn't.
We had guests wearing white & black albeit as base colours with different colour florals/dots/stripes etc.
(From looking at the photos as otherwise it didn't stick in my mind)

However if you are that worried
about the dress you can check with the bride & see what she thinks.

In my mind - if I have to ask whether it’s too white for a wedding then it’s too white for a wedding 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just don’t take the chance 😊

Your selection of dresses are lovely OP. I never knew this was a thing until MN. I've never come across it as a concern in real life. I couldn't honestly tell you what anyone else wore to my wedding, it was so hectic and over in a flash.
Unless you rock up in a long princessy dress and a veil you're fine, surely?

If I was getting married, none of those would bother me one bit. They aren't the slightest bit bridal! I also feel only plain white/ivory/cream is an issue.

It would have to be a very petty and insecure bride or bridal party that would take issue with any of those short, flowery patterned non bridal dresses.

I mean, there’s thousands of dresses out there without white backgrounds. Why are you picking all the ones that do??

2-3 are fine, I wouldn’t wear 1.though I wore the below to a wedding and there was an article in glamour about someone getting kicked out of a wedding so what do I know 🤣

Thank you all for your opinions so far. I hear what you are saying, I often think if you need to ask if it's too white, don't wear it.

I know the rule is not to wear white but I was genuinely asking as I've only been to one wedding as a guest and I would never have cared if someone wore a floral dress with a white background when I got married.

So I apologise if I come across as insensitive towards the bride, that was not my intention. I just didn't actually know the rule and thought the issue would be with a dress that's really white and resembles a wedding dress. I didn't see any of the above as looking like a wedding dress but knowing that some of you would be offended, I won't risk it.

The only reason I've selected these colours is because everything is out of stock. I'd much prefer the other colours but nothing is in stock in my sizes, otherwise I'd have posted those.

What about this. Not sure on.the colour but it's the only one in my size apart from the floral one that people think is too white (pic 2)

I've no experience with the quality of reformation but none of these are particularly wow for the price point. Are you set on that brand?
