Genuinely cool-toned bronzer - does such a thing exist?

Hi all, in an effort to make my face look a bit less washed out I’ve been experimenting with a bit of bronzer. I’ve tried a few and they all seem to go orange within an hour or so. I am the coolest toned, palest person in existence so any HINT of orange makes me look like the love child of donald trump and an oompa loompa. I’ve thought about using a contouring powder or even an eyeshadow - any recommendations for something light and cool toned? I don’t want to look tanned or like i’ve been attacked by kim kardashian’s makeup artist, i just want to look like my face has a bit more shape.

Have you tried the hourglass powders? Elf do a palette with slightly more pink tones in too.

I feel your pain as a fellow pale pink tones person!!

Hoola Lite (Benefit) might suit your colouring more

The purpose of bronzer isn't to give your face shape, it is to make you look a touch tanned and give a sun kissed glow, as if you have been sitting out on a hot day and caught the sun, that's why they are typically warm in tone and often formulated with shimmer. This should be applied to the high points of the face.

Contour is to give faces shape, they are much more grey-brown as they mimic shadows, they rarely have shimmer. This should be applied to enhance bone structure, often underneath high points.

You don't seem very clear in which of the above you want? Saying all of that it might be worth you looking at Fenty Beautys range, they have cream and powder bronzers and contour shades to suit the very fair to the very deep. I have also heard good things about Benefit Hoola fair, but have not used it myself.

Hourglass Dim Light. I am ghostly pale and I can use this as a finishing powder or build it up for some colour. I have recently tried the Physicians Formula maramuru butter bronzer in the lightest shade and if I am very light handed with it I can make it work. The hourglass powder definately works better for me though. I was trying to find something cheaper but nothing compares.

I'm a similar skin tone and tend to look for taupe shades of blush instead or buy a cool toned concealer in a darker shade and use that as a light contour to add dimension and tone to the face. NYX used to do a true taupe blush but any would work. Concealer wise I just buy something cheap like the revolution concealers as they come in so many shades is easy to find the right fit for a contour shade. I stick with the same tone (eg cool, warm etc) and just for up a few shades and blend in well with a beauty blender on cheekbones, side of nose and forehead.

Bronzer never really works for me, but the body shop honey bronze palette shade is pretty pale, and I've heard Hoola Lite is but haven't tried it as I hated the original.

You could try using a mineral foundation; two or three shades darker than your foundation. Lily Lolo sell samples you could try.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar bronze and glow- in the lighter shade is the least orange bronzer I've found.

I use this
www.chanel.com/gb/makeup/p/185390/les-beiges-bronzing-cream-cream-gel-bronzer-for-a-healthy-sun-kissed-glow/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw4cOEBhDMARIsAA3XDRhVojiI7OG7IJzDBEY2suwfRc3HWgLm241FW0HslDyoBrDcvAAMT9saAq2LEALw_wcB

It isn't shimmery and looks very natural. Its easy to use because its almost impossible to use too much. It isn't orange, and it can be used as either a bronzer or used to contour. It lasts for yonks and unlike powder none is wasted.

I swear by kevyn aucoin sculpting powder for contouring cheek bones and neck, it has no warm tones. I usually follow it with the smallest brush of Nars Laguna above the cheekbones followed by a bit of blusher blended on the apples.

Another vote for Charlotte Tilbury filmstar bronze and glow in light and also have a look at the Hoola Light.

I was going to suggest the Kevin Aucoin sculpting powder too! I have one in a duo with a highlighter and they’re both nice, the contour is very cool toned, almost verging on grey!

For me it was Benefit Dallas, its a plumy bronze. Perfect to pair with my cool toned lipsticks. Try it. Its the best.

I came on to say Hoola Light too. I'm so fair that being locked down for several months has given a bit of a blue tinge. This warms me up without turning me orange.

I am really very pale and I love this. No orange just a subtle hint of warmth. Very flattering.

I love the Chanel Les Beiges Bronzing cream.
Expensive but so worth it.
They have changed it in the past year or so and I haven't bought the new formulation - I'm hoping it's as good.
W7 did a great dupe Make up and Glow but I think it's been discontinued Sad
Boots 17 did one also but that's discontinued too.
