Please tell me your best white trainer purchases! Ideally to wear with midi and maxi skirts but comfy enough to walk a distance.

I always admire the effortless way some of the women I have seen, walking around the streets of London in their white trainers and floaty dresses.

I am due to go to London (hopefully) in August and need a great pair of trainers that ideally are stylish and super comfy from the get go!

I would possibly need to add an insole depending on the trainer, as I’ve just had issues dealing with plantar fasciitis! Really don’t want to be putting up with that nonsense while trying to cram as much of London as I possibly can!

So, please tell me your go to trainers, the ones you know won’t let you down but that you feel good in too!

I do have a great lived in pair of Converse but fancy a change and really want to invest in a great pair of trainers that are going to stand the test of time!

I bought these. I didn’t want a pair with loads of stitching or that looked chunky. I’ve also got a pair for Fitflop Rally trainers that are comfy.

I love the Adidas Originals trainers. I find them very comfy and can walk miles in them, and have been complimented on them when wearing with dresses etc.

These are cheaper but not leather. I’m not sure whether I want leather or not but I live in Scotland and walk a dog, so it might not be a bad shout. I have been ignoring the white trainer trend because I was convinced I would never keep them clean, but they look so summery that I’ve decided to risk it.

I’ve said this before but I’m a big fan of Fitflop shoes for comfort. I have their urban rally trainers in plain white and they are great for this. Fitflops often tend to be a bit over embellished for my (personal) taste, and the rally comes in lots of different colours/finishes, but there is also an absolutely plain white leather version.

I’ve never managed to walk more than a step in a pair of Vera’s. Just trying them on in the shop bought tears to my eyes. They’re too try hard cool in my opinion.

Adidas Stan Smiths are the ones that look cool without being cool. I can’t wear them as I need a full on cushioned 80s dad pair of trainers these days. I love New Balance but you’ve got to get them fitted properly. The shop at Oxford Circus is great if you’re off to London anyway.

I’ve got great soft leather trainers from Zara the past few years. Very minimal and modern. I commute by walking, have a bad bunion and find them comfortable. They only have high tops and platforms at the moment, which is unusual, but I would recommend checking back in with them as I’d hope they will restock a similar style.

I have several pairs of these and I love them. They can go through the washing machine so they always look fresh. I also have them in the 'mauve' colour which is more of a rose gold and looks great with leopard print.

I'm not sure how good they would be for walking a long distance though. I find they are fine for about 5 miles and further on grass but not so good for longer distances on hard surfaces. I think the base isn't sufficiently padded for that.

Supergas. White leather if you think you need something more hardy than the white canvas version. They’re very comfy, although slightly lower cut than Converse, so you need slightly lower cut trainer socks with them. I find them true to size. I have a wider foot but you could just lace them tighter.
If they’re good enough for The Duchess of Cambridge, they’ll do me

I do love the look of the Vejas but if they rip up your heels that’s not good!

Will take a look at the Supergas, Adidas & Scetchers! Although I will need something that is good for supporting on hard surfaces as that’s what recently started up the plantar fasciitis!

Has anyone invested in Air and Grace trainers? They are pricey but have some great reviews!

I wear children's Stan Smiths. They made me bleed the first time I wore them, but really comfortable ever since. I stick them through the washing machine in a pillow case.
