Grey hair at 50

Hi everyone I am 50 this year and didn't expect to be contemplating this but with the lack of hair dresser trips I'm now sporting a lot of grey hair and not sure I want to try a box dye. Was wonder what anyone's experiences are with growing their grey hair out?

Also if you have gone grey how have people reacted to you? I remember my mum saying she felt like an invisible old lady and I'm definitely not wanting that just yet and people didn't take her seriously.

Also due to hot flushes that come with menopause and hitting a certain age I'm now finding I am constantly putting my hair in a ponytail due to the sweat on my neck ( I know TMI lol) what hairstyle is best for these tropical moments don't fancy the pixie look that older women tend to go for
