What kind of a hat do you wear in winter?
Specially if you're wearing a black long puffer coat?
Would love pictures or links.
I've tried about 6 hats now but don't like any of them.

A cashmere beanie in a brighter colour, probably from uniqlo. I have a Uniqlo navy one already to go with my winter coat. I currently have my eye on a neon yellow one from Cos (waiting for Black Friday) to wear with my black puffa.

Black Fedora to keep the low winter sun out of my eyes or a cashmere beanie if its particularly windy. I don't wear puffa jackets so I don't know if they would work.

I have an Augusti beanie hat from Barts, it was a bit dearer than similar-looking hats but it's so warm. It has a velvet strip on the inside which stops that itchy feeling that you can sometimes get with wool.

I’ve got a leopard print pillbox. I appreciate it wouldn’t be for everyone.

With long black puffer coat I wear a cashmere beanie, bobble hat or headband - Johnstons of Elgin are among my favourites. Other styles don't work as well for me but it depends on your hairstyle and the style of your coat, size and position of hood, with/without trim etc.

I like Barts hats, and nearly ordered this one, but not sure of colour hmm

Mine is a bright pink. I also have a bluebell colour Barts but a different style, it's not as nice as the pink one though.

Acne studios rib knit beanie hat. I got one for my birthday in black and I bet I've worn it everyday since, I love it so much I'm going to get the nude one too!

Are you brave enough for this one, it's reversible?

Cloche hat! Casual but stylish.

I wear a black merino wool beanie with a huge pom-pom, a wool chocolate beanie with a huge Pom-pom, an olive wool fedora, a black kitted beret, a burgundy knitted beret, or a camel felt beret. Not at the same time.😉

I’m looking for a plainer beanie (no Pom-Pom) this year, possibly in cashmere. I’d also like a cashmere beret. And I’d like a cable knit bobble hat. But I don’t suppose I’ll actually buy any as I’ve got plenty already...

That sounds right up my street!

I’d wear it with a houndstooth coat and red leather gloves.

Are any of these beanies slouchy ones? I’m after a slouchy beanie but a huge head coupled with thick curly hair means it never looks quite as I imagine! I do love a hat.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule Wed 25-Nov-20 16:09:46

Yes one of mine is slouchy - it’s a merino wool one from Amelia Jane London. Hang on I’ll see if I can find a pic/link...

Mine is like this one, but black

Animal print fedora. Black baker boy. Grey baker boy - current fave. Love a cheeky beret too. Love hats!

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule Wed 25-Nov-20 16:15:02

I love baker boys but I’m never happy with how they look on me! Perhaps I’ll try again this year...

Purplecatshopaholic Wed 25-Nov-20 16:28:21

Selection of hats. Just realised I have quite a few...

Purplecatshopaholic Wed 25-Nov-20 16:29:26

Grey baker boy. A black one would look great with your puffer coat op?

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule Wed 25-Nov-20 17:29:26

Colour wise mustard yellow looks really good with black. I think if I were you I’d go for a bobble hat, or possibly a baker boy in grey.

Bear in mind that it can sometimes take a while to get used to seeing yourself in a different type of headwear, so if you find one that you really like but you’re not sure if it suits you why not go ahead and buy it and try something a little way out of your comfort zone! After a couple of weeks you’ll be used to it and will likely quite like the way it looks.

Ellapaella Wed 25-Nov-20 18:42:44

These are my 3 winter hats, I wear them with my long puffa coat, also with biker jacket and my wool coat.
I would love a black fedora actually.

raffegiraffe Wed 25-Nov-20 18:47:45

I bought this and I'm completely in love with it. I usually look bad in hats but this is lovely
