How the hell do I style joggers?

As the title suggests. If you look cool and intentional in joggers and not just full on frump how are you styling them? I was sort of ok in warmer weather but I definitely look slobby and feel bleh now I need to be warmer.

I think it helps if you think of it as an outfit choice as opposed to I'm just hanging around the house in my trackies. So for me, I style it with jeweller, small cross body bag, do my hair and a spritz of perfume. So it's all in the accessories 😉

I almost always style mine with a bodysuit and fashion trainers.

I wear mine with trainers, sweatshirt, sometimes a scarf or costume jewellery. Hair is up in a messy bun most days.

I agree, you’ve got to dress up the rest of you to get away with it. Otherwise you just look like a slob Wink

"Style" and "joggers".. hmm maybe if you are under 25, otherwise probably won't look that great. I think styled hair and make-up look particularly wrong with sportswear, too "try-hard".
Having said that I do wear joggers, but wouldn't if I was going anywhere other than the corner shop. If I had a waist line and was young, I might wear them with a shortish fitted t shirt, or even a cropped one. Some young women I know wear them with a cropped top and a big open shirt, and trainers. I've seen a friend wear a short poloneck jumper with joggers, warmer round the neck but not the middle!

I wear them with a tight top and/or a jumper with nice trainers. I don’t believe there’s an age for this look, I will still be wearing tracksuits in my 60’s.

Good trainers, cashmere sweater, leather jacket and brush your hair.

Hum. As I suspected my boots and coat are the issue. It might be a bit cold to be at the park in a leather jacket - I’ll have to try again in spring.

You need fairly fitted top half. I have a shortish fitted coat which looks ok. Plus you need trainers, not boots.
And you need fairly fitted joggers.

Oh and don’t go out of the house with just one leg tucked into your fleecy socks. Just theoretically.

I love this sort of thing. Maybe a bit matchy matchy for some, but I like it. I have trainers a similar shape to those and have just ordered the top and bottoms in this pic! Will report back.

Also planning to wear the bottoms with a v neck long sleeved tshirt from Uniqlo and a long necklace with a navy cardigan over the top. I need to try that on though.

My DD wears this with hers, for something a bit warmer.

I wear mine with smarter clothes just like normal trousers . Black ankle boots , simple v neck t shirt & Jaeger coat or nice jacket. I have cropped wide legged joggers from Cos & an assortment of joggers from H&m - cargo, slim etc in neutral colours like black/grey/navy. I don't wear the coloured ones like my dd's. That's a completely different look and I feel too old ( 50's) for that.

@teta I'm mid-life thirties and also wondering if the sea green colour I just posted might not look right on me... will see!

@DelphiniumBlue It is possible to be older and have a waist line!

The sea green is lovely TB, has an air of sea breeze about it, more French Riviera than Skegness!

I just wear mine like jeans if that makes sense, love them with a soft jumper & trainers.
I had joggers & red lipstick on the other day.

That's reassuring @teta & @Hayeahnobut! Fingers crossed they work out. The outfit looked so nice on the model. I don't normally just copy the whole outfit, but liked this so much.

I'm quite sure it is, just saying in my case...

Umm. Something tucked in such as a sweatshirt. Big chunky trainers, or hiking boots, puffa coat. That's me, not necessarily stylish, but no one looks good in the cold on a school run Grin

And the brighter the better. I have red, or navy for days when I'm just not feeling it

I'm wearing black pvc joggers, with a white tucked in t-shirt, a big gold chain around my neck, and a black satin single breasted blazer with some 'boxer'-style leather round toe ankle boots...
