TrinnyLondon BFF colours/shades

If anyone has trinny London BFF could you tell me if it comes up slightly dark or slightly light? I seem to be between the peaches & cream normal and peaches and cream light and it makes the difference between ordering BFF light or lightest. TIA!

if you're between, I think I'd err towards the darker one. I love trinny stuff, so I hope you get on with it.

What other foundations have you used and what colour do you have in them?
I would say the lightest, as the name says, really is the lightest so if you don’t normally have to go for the palest then the light would make more sense. I have the light one in a sample and Claire in the BFF De-stress. Have you checked all the look books with the models etc?

Thanks for your reply. Yes I do often have to get the lightest in things but then again sometimes the lightest makes me look a bit ashen, and the next one up is too tan. I wear vanilla in Nars concealer if that's any help... but honestly I do find it extremely difficult to find foundation/tinted moisturiser that works for my skin. I have looked over and over at the models and really can't tell which I am 😕 I wish they did a sample system.

I tried the nars tinted moisturiser and the lightest one is too pink based for me but the next one up is too orangey. I have a Bobbi brown one in porcelain which is ok... it's not great tho.

Ok so I contacted them with a photo and they've advised me the fairer shade.

I think I'll go for it, but I'm also considering the bronzer. I should technically get the lightest one but I've read elsewhere that the middle shade is more neutral, any advice?

And any other products from her range that you think are excellent?

I got the BFF serum in claire and it’s a bit too orange for me but still very wearable. I got a “just a touch” sample in trinton (or something like that) and this is the best concealer I’ve ever used - great colour blends really well, no caking. Once the sample is nearly finished I will buy the full size.

Also sample was a cheek tint which is bright red with sparkly bits. Was dubious. But it’s really nice!

I got the lip / cheek tint and it’s great for cheeks, I don’t find it a good coverage for lips - not solid enough almost.

I am eying up the blur.

That's interesting to know @Beachlovingirl
What kind of coverage is the serum?
I was considering the concealer although im quite happy with my NARS one, any idea how it would compare?

Thanks for the tips on the other products. Yes I usually find products that claim to be for lips and cheeks only do one or the other properly. I'm tempted by the virally shade i was recommended though!

@upsidedownroundabout the serum I would say is light to medium. The website suggested you could build the coverage up to be a stronger coverage but I haven’t found this - any more than one layer and my face is very “dewy” (pretty much just shiny, to be honest) so I don’t think I would re-buy this one.

Sorry I can’t help with the comparison, but if you go ahead and purchase a product you’re interested in hopefully you will get the option to select just a touch as a sample before committing to the full size product Smile

I never thought of it like that before with the cheek lip thing but you’re absolutely right. I was taken in by the promise of that one golden product that solves all beauty pain points Blush

I use Vanilla Nars concealer and had a small sample (from buying other products) of the light which I’d say erred on the darker side. Would love to try the lightest in comparison!

Ah thanks. That's helpful.

Lol I just noticed my phone autocorrected "corally" to "virally" 😂 I don't think anyone wants a viral lip shade!!

Oh thank you @TableNiner - I use vanilla too so perhaps I am right to go for the lightest!

100% getting cold feet about this now after reading all the less than 5 star reviews on the site... seems like it might just feel like a sunscreen and make your skin look a bit greasy...

It’s funny I just bought the serum and I think it’s really dry in texture. I’d imagined it with a bit more of a slip and less pigmented. I don’t like the texture at all. Really disappointed

Oh no @Lndnmummy

I admit I cracked this afternoon in the face of the 10% off, I got the normal BFF and the bronzer. I think I'm getting a sample of the serum so I'll report back.

So I got the fairest BFF and I do like it... it makes me a bit shiny but overall I think it's a good addition to the make up bag. Not convinced the small tube will last long!

Hate the serum sample, like a bad foundation. Like the lip to cheek that I got... only for cheeks though. I might buy it. And the eye product I like too, I wouldn't have chosen the colour but obviously match2me works because it's nice and lasts.

Unsure about the bronzer but it's inoffensive and I like that's it's a cream.
