Boots...help me

I need a new pair or a couple of pairs.

I'm wearing a 3 year old pair of UGG leather boots. The stout leather ones cant remember the name.

I have no car and do a lot of walking.

I'd need a pair to cope with that and also a pair for work on the commute etc.

Ideas 💡

Thank you

I looked at those. Are they not a bit teenage?

Agree with DMs and I have no issue with wearing them as a non teen 😁

Fly London boots are pretty hardy.

@Newuser991 Nope! I wear them all the time and they're very comfortable, very practical, go with almost everything and they never let water in.

Ecco. Comfortable and good quality.

OK thank you

Do what about a smarter pair too? Capable of being left on at work? 😀

Oak and hyde boots are very sturdy. Bit small made, but they will last a while.

Dr martens are apparantly a bastard to break in and give you blisters. There was a thread on here recently and everyone was saying the same thing.

Hohohole · 21/11/2020 18:07

My Dr Martens didn't need to be broken in. Probably due to the fur lining. My feet are a bit wide too.

They would be good for work.

The amount of break in required varies by the DM boot and leather. I have two pairs of boots and one pair of shoes (I wear the shoes in a professional job, styled as you would brogues).
The more patent the leather the harder to break in. I have some Sinclair boots that are in a very soft leather and I’ve worn them straight out of the box. But even the patent ones I have are fine now.
I preemptively wore blister plasters for the first few wears of my harder leather ones. I appreciate that many people will not want to spend that much money and also have to break in shoes but I love the style and the durability so it was worth it for me.

Thank you all

Would it be a bad idea to order a pair or wait until end of lockdown so I can try them on

@Newuser991 I'd definitely wait to try them on but also wait til after Christmas as they usually have an amazing sale! Smile

Are the Ugg boots either Bonham or Lavelle? My friend has Lavelles but I don’t think they make them any longer. They seem to do Bonhams every year. Here’s the stout version:

Yes. Not something like that. Too heavy and too many buckles
