How often do you brush your hair in a day?

I have long hair (down to my lower back) and yesterday I realised that until going to bed last night, I had only brushed it once, while getting dressed (I WFH) in the morning. Hair of course gets dirty, like everything else, and I usually brush it a few times a day (mostly when I go for a pee) as that also makes it more presentable if I need to pop out.

So that got me wondering what others do - how often do you brush your hair? And is it long or short?

@BarryWhiteIsMyBrother usually brush mine in the morning and then nothing through the day Smile My hair is chest length and is the longest it's been! I only wash it once every one/two weeks and it's in the best condition it's ever been in Smile

I only brush mine when I wash it. Other than that, I just run my fingers through it to help give it texture. I don't like the ironed straight look.

I have a long bob, an inch or two past my collar bone, and wash it every 3 or 4 days.

Maybe once?

Didn't realise people would repeatedly brush in the day...

Once in the morning. Maybe once occasionally in the evening.

Long thick curly hair here. Once.

Brushing it more than once doesn't clean it though op?

I never brush my hair... it's very fine & curly so I use a wide tooth comb only when it gets tangled.

Mine is still in the same ponytail it was in two weeks ago....

Only brush before and after a wash, so around 3 times a week

I only brush my hair after a shower. It takes a good ten minutes and I often need a break.

If I brushed it dry I’d look like I had a massive mane!

I brush it when wet after washing, and then maybe again to tidy the windblownness if I’ve been outside (my hair is fine and gets tangled in the slightest breeze).

When I wash my hair, which isn't daily (or even every other day Blush).

I have thick curly hair, if I brush it I look like Hagrid from Harry Potter so sometimes it’s every other day to keep the curl!

Some of the answers on here really surprise me - don't you brush it in the morning to get rid of the bed-head look? I have to brush to smooth my hair down after it's all muzzled by the pillow! I brush twice a day, after bed and before bed; plus occasionally an extra time if I'm going out somewhere.

Mornings. And then if I can be arsed I brush it out and plait it for night. It's waist length and straight.

Thankfully I have short hair and don’t even own a brush. I wash it every other day and blow it back into shape with the hairdryer on the other day. Takes about 15 seconds

It's long. It's now lockdown long (and needs a good cut!!), it's incredibly fine.

I brush it in the morning (with a new tangle teaser brush fir fine hair, it's brilliant) and before I wash it (whatever time/day that is). Also quite often niw I put it up in a pony tail when I'm driving as with the windows open it's getting in a right mess if not, so if I think about it before leaving the house I'll do that with the brush.

But it's so fine & much thinner these days that it looks better if I don't brush it! It goes a bit fluffy if I do.

Oh the joys of age & health issues.

When I had long hair I only brudhed it once a day.

Why do you feel the need to keep brushing it?

I only comb my hair when I wash it so every 3-4 days.

I will only brush mine occasionally during the week.
It would probably look better if I did brush it more but it just seems to fall in place. Dds hair is the same. I think it is a genetic thing

My hair is chin, bob length. I'll brush in the morning and give it a longer brush before bed. In between, well maybe if I'm going out (same as teeth).

Superfine, shoulder length, comb it in the morning and that's it. Can't imagine repeatedly brushing/combing it.

Mine is chin length and wavy-curly. I brush it first thing and then don't do it again all day.
