Beauty advent calendars all sold out?

Thought I would make DS's fiancee's Christmas present an early one, and send her a beauty advent calendar, but have checked John Lewis, Cult Beauty, Look Fantastic, etc, and they all seem to be sold out!
Have I really left it too late, even though 1st December is 2 weeks away?

People buy them and resell the bits or resell the whole thing sad

Clarins 12 days of Christmas is available; it's £60. I love their products so decided to treat myself the other day; I've never bought a beauty calendar before.

This is still available and discounted?

Rituals and L’Occitane are still in stock I think. Agree it is ridiculous they they were all sold/sold out from early October.

Charlotte Tilbury isn't sold out - £135 with code SELFCCE

Have a look on ebay - found some nice refilled ones too (high quality ones).

But yes it’s crazy bonkers 🙄

Elle is still available and might be a good choice if you want a multi-brand calendar?

buckeejit Tue 17-Nov-20 21:46:32

Elle is one of the better ones imo. I don't wear much black mascara & no pink lip gloss but would buy Elle if I didn't already have a load of same or similar bits

Rituals is lovely and I’ve found all products get used by my girls! Got mine last week from John Lewis as I think it was out of stock on their own website.

I was Christmas shopping on boots today, about 40% was sold out for online shipping, even standard hair care. Get your Christmas shopping done soon.

I can't find Rituals or Charlotte Tilbury in stock anywhere.

Janus Wed 18-Nov-20 08:52:38

Try putting your email in at John Lewis to notify when it comes back in stock as it was sold out when I first looked and then came back in so I got an email telling me.

So, I've ordered an Elle advent calendar to be delivered to DS's fiancee.
Thanks, everyone, for ideas.
I'll know to plan further ahead next year.
Also ordered a whisky advent calendar for DS.
Feeling quite organised, now!

They always sell out - why don't they just produce more?

They are an easy sell. I don't get it. Same every year.

waltzingparrot: I wonder, too, why they don't just produce more ( maybe to maintain some exclusivity and keep up interest?)

I think this year has been especially bad in terms of everything selling out early. In previous years quite a few calendars have still been around (and discounted) for Black Friday. My best guess is that there are two main reasons for this. The first is that, understandably, everyone is feeling in need of pampering after the year we have had. The second I think is the bizarre decision by M&S not to do a proper calendar this year. I reckon it sold far more calendars than any other provider in previous years as it was one of the most affordable and probably the best value, and also widely available. So this year all those who usually buy M&S calendars have had to find something else.
