Lumea on c section scar

Hi. Has anyone used lumea laser hair removal on their c section scar? I can't find much online about whether this is ok. It's the prestige one if that makes a difference. Thank you.

You mean the lyma laser? I have it but not bothering with my scar - using it on my face first. Two months in... I like it but my pigmentation hasn’t disappeared

Re-read your post... are you trying to remove hair or the scar?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I'm using it for hair removal but have so far avoided going over the area where the scar is as I'm not sure if it's safe. Can't see much online about it but may contact Philips directly.

If anyone else has the same question, I have contacted Phillips via their WhatsApp support service and they've confirmed that it shouldn't be used on scars as it can cause damage.

Yes, I have. I actually use it as a guild line to keep my moving the laser in a straight line! It's been fine, no issues, I hadn't even thought about it, been using it 2 years now so if there was going to be a problem I would think it would have already happened.

My scar is very low so wouldn't have been much point in using it on that area if I hadn't been able to use it there - it's actually been the most responsive area.

Thanks @UpToonGirl that's helpful as I'm the same with it being very low. I need Phillips would come back saying no but thought they might be being over cautious so it's good to hear that it was ok for you

I had the same question and couldn’t find an answer so zapped mine for the first time last week. I read medical grade IPL is used as treatment to reduce scarring?

I've used it over my scar with no problems. It's an old c section scar though - it was a 13 year old scar when I got my Lumea.

Mine is six months old too! I think the bloody itchy hair is so annoying.

Lumea is NOT medical grade laser. Hmm

Don’t do it - your scar is only 6 months old. It is still healing, you don’t have a mature scar yet so you run the risk of changing the appearance for the worse. I would wait another 6 months.

I wasn't suggesting that it is

Thank you - I am a bit nervous about it so I think you're right. I haven't started using it regularly yet anyway so I can wait a bit longer

I think we meant if the medical grade ones are safe on scars then the limes which is measly compared surely would be.

They don’t use the same technology. It’s like using mushrooms in a pie instead of apple.

@shesyourlobster I hadn't realised your scar was only six months old - I agree with @throwaway100000 to let it heal for a bit longer. I think mine must have been about 2 years old (I've had 2 sections) when I started.
