Just bought this (in a sale) for Xmas present for DD who is late twenties
It’s beautiful butter soft leather
However I’m 50 plus and not sure if it’s too classic? The massimo dutti ones were more expensive and I wouldn’t know which all saints one to consider as too many styles

Probably for a night out or in the summer .
I wouldn’t bother with it in the winter though because I get cold !

I think it’s nice. A classic leather jacket will last a long time and always be wearable.

I'm 40 and I love it , now and I'd of loved it 15 years ago too.

I’m no style icon myself - I do have a leather jacket but hardly ever wear it - prefer a classic wool coat or a fake fur when it’s really chilly

It was less than 1/2 price hence the impulse buy - thank you for responses - DD asked for a black leather jacket - she is size 12 but petite in height - just checking it’s not too ‘old’ style wise

It looks gorgeous. My 15 yo DD would wear this with skinny ripped jeans and a T.

I think it's bikery enough. I'd wear it now - not sure if that's much use - and would have worn it then too and loved it, but I do prefer understated stuff. It's one of the nicest biker jackets I've ever seen actually.

Love it! I'm 30's and think I might treat myself!

I'm 30 and would love that as an every day spring/autumn jacket!

That's been linked to dh as a BIG hint.

I’m not a fan of leatherjackets on the whole but think that’s a really nice one and definitely right for someone young.

Yes, I'm 30 and would wear it :)

I love it. I think ted Baker might be a bit uncool for the young uns though?

Report

Bear in mind OP that if your DD is petite, the sleeves may be way too long and as it has the zips at the cuffs, there is no way to fold the cuffs back. Some biker jackets have plain or buttoned cuff and they can be turned back if too long. Might be worth checking with her

It's lovely. I'm early 30s but would definitely wear it.

Is she into fashion or does she just wear nice clothes? If it's the latter it's lovely and classic but it's not particularly in right now, and Ted Baker isn't a cool brand. For reference I'm late twenties and wouldn't wear that, but it's a lovely jacket and my mum would.

Thats really lovely.
I don't think it matters that its Ted Baker. As in you cant tell from a leather jacket. His other clothes as very obviously Ted Baker. I for one really rate this brand. Its all made very well and seems worth the price.

I'm early 30s and didn't realise Ted Baker wasn't cool! I have a few things from the brand that are really good quality and lasted well. I personally wouldn't wear this jacket, I don't like how it is kind of double breasted, would prefer not so much overlap at the front for when it is open. But that's just down to personal taste.

I love it!!! I missed out on a super similar Ted one on TK Maxx because I procrastinated and regret it massively!! It was also half price.

It was £120 in tkmaxx clearance - with shops closing tomorrow I decided to show DD in case it needed returning - she loves it 😊 and it was a perfect fit
At least that’s her main present sorted!

Oh I'm delighted OP. I was just thinking that it's the type that you'd wear for years and years anyway, whereas some clothes are too obviously the fashion of the day/not subtle enough to style up.

Against the grain but I probably wouldn't wear it, albeit I don't dislike it and used to wear mine near constantly- am early 30's. I just don't think the short leather jackets aren't in fashion anywhere near as much as they were. I relegated my cropped leather jackets to the back of the wardrobe in favour of the less fitted or oversized styledof jacket a couple of years ago and my teenage niece also never wears hers anymore and would refuse to wear real leather anyway as she's vegan.

If it's the style of jacket she's asked for though, absolutely. For that money though, I'd ask her, show her it or let her choose herself.

It doesn’t come up too short as DD is a petite 5’0”
I did let her try it in end and it fits and she’s very happy with it - it’s not like she is young enough to want surprise presents!
